Rob,

........and much appreciated. Thanks for the Google Ref. as well!
Cheers,
Lance

Lance here is one thread that shows how the camo sort of disappears in the low light and angle of the photo. I have another of the old drome threads. Hope you can access them  8)

PS: Both have shots of replica and even RC aircraft I think. There is a great shot of the DVIII wing tested to destruction also that clearly shows a camo demarcation. I was convinced way back when but still have that nagging doubt....

I just found your build, since I haven't browsed the forum for awhile.  It looks great so far.  I'll be watching it!

Thanks for the excellent Aerodrome links too.

It has been some time since I last drop by to see how progress was coming along and they are coming along very well so far . I really like how the pit turned out and the oil staining is very convincing . Well done so far . Fit of the kit looks pretty good so far .

Rick and Rob,
Thanks very much for the perspectives in the links you provided, lots of new (to me) stuff and I gotta admit my mind is somewhat changed as a result. Obviously some, in fact more then a few, had the streaked contrasting stain applied, and I think I'm convinced enough to change my finishing plans for it. So much to learn about this hobby and I always enjoy new sources and info. I'm still anxiously awaiting my Kit from the Ukraine, originally estimated by 15 May.
Cheers,
Lance

Thanks to all for looking in and commenting! Controversy is a good thing  8) I still feel strongly both ways  ::) I am 100% convinced that whatever process Fokker used on the EV left a streaky appearance but not the same as seen on DR1s' and DVIIs'. I am 60 to 75% convinced the 4 dyes were used to camo the wings. So any discussion of pros and cons is appreciated!

So, the lozenge is applied with very few issues. I have some minor touch up to do and will add some more oil stains here and there.

Looks super!  I really like the oil stains on the underside.
