Focke-Wulf Fw190A3 & A4, 1/72
« on: September 25, 2014, 08:46:15 AM »
Since I completed my first WWI build in early june, I kind of relaxed building a series of three 1/72 Fw190's: one A3 et two A4's. The base is a Tamiya kit which was by far easier to build than a Roden 1/72 Alby...

Assi Hahn's A3, III/JG2, north of France 1942:

Erich Rudorffer's A4, II/JG2, Tunisia early 1943:

and Walter Nowotny's A4, I/JG54, Leningrad area, late 1942:

So now, it's time to get back to wood and wire with coming Pfalz D-IIIa's!

Oh! My favourite WWII aircraft.  Really well done, Vincent!
Your displays are first-rate as well.  Good work. :D

Nice Butcher Birds!

Cheers,

You can have it good; You can have it fast; you can have it cheap. Pick any two, but all three are impossible.

Really nice work, Vincent. The "Green Heart" winter white finish is beautifully done, looks like the real thing.
Cheers,
Lance

Thank you all. The only important change I made to the kits are home-made vacuformed sliding canopies, as the kit ones were too thick, and Falcon parts didn't fit. I also added opened inner landing gear hatches to 2 of them, which were scratchbuilt as well as a few more details. My goal was to depict the Fw190 in its early theaters of operations, which were the English Channel, the Leningrad sector and Tunisia, each with the typical german camo of the area.
