New 1/72 Scale WWI Engines
« on: May 29, 2014, 11:19:22 AM »
For the 1/72 scale builders out there Small Stuff Models has just released 5 more WWI resin engines. I have some of their earlier ones and they are very nice. Here's the link to their website:

I have just received their 80hp Le Rhone and Gnome Monosoupape. The latter one looks almost like Taurus 32nd scale masterpiece, only scaled down 2.25 times. Each cylinder is made of 4 elements. Tiny is too small a word to describe them.
I am going to use Le Rhone for my nearest project - Bristol Scout from MAC and I am thinking of a appropriate project for Monosoupape. My poor eyes...

Wow, Mike, thanks a lot. I was looking for a replacement engine for the 1:72 Farman HF 20 Omega kit and the 80HP Gnome Monosoupape might be just the engine I'm looking for. When looking at the kit resin part I can't imagine the smallstuffmodels version looking so detailed!

Ivo

Wow, those are amazing engines for such a small scale, excellent replacements for kit engines and the prices seem very reasonable.

For the builders of a Fokker D.VII or Albatros (and many others) in 1:72 small stuff models now has a Mercedes D.III engine. It's hard to believe that this is 1:72 scale. I wonder how you would model the spark plug leads.
