I have been looking at some builds lately and thought that a thread featuring specific aircraft would be of use to people contemplating a particular model. Feel free to post your Sopwith Pup picture here or start another "Show us your...." thread!
I'd like to start this one off with my Eduard 1/48 sopwith pup. (This was the reboxed Flashback version)
Decals are my own artwork printed on an ALPS printer by Pete's Hangar here in Australia.

EDIT: There are some photos of the build here: Sopwith Pup - Flashback 1/48 (http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/models/45913-sopwith-pup-flashback-1-48-a.html)
And some more pics of it on my website.

I remember this little beauty from our days on the 'drome, Paul. This has always been one of my favorite Pup models of all time. Could you please post a few more photos?
Here are my Pups, Mono and Le Rhone. Both new 1/48 Aeroclub releases. Really nice injected kits based on the old Aeroclub vac.

Hey Bud,
These are just great - I particularly like the red on Betty.
As you say, my pup appeared on the 'drome. I have added a link to the build article which I think this thread would be great for - add a link to your own builds to make "Show us your...." threads all the more useful!
I know you have a build Des - in fact, here it is: http://www.ww1aircraftmodels.com/page13.html (http://www.ww1aircraftmodels.com/page13.html)

I'm glad you posted this one Bud!
I must get round to finishing the three I have on the stocks - the Eduard 48th one I started in 2008.... (and which led to the start of Pheon!) and the WNW one with the Mono cowl and engine and an Aeroclub one in 48th.
Carpo, any chance you could email me what photos you have of the Dragon Pup? ([email protected]) - I feel this one should be available in 32nd scale decal form - along with Brad's favourite with the family of Kookaburras and a few others... I feel a second volume of Trainers and Pets coming on!

I've just recently posted my Airfix 1:72 Pup, so I went out and took a couple of new pics just for this thread! Vickers and wheels from Aeroclub, control horns are PART, the rest is the kit (plus a few modifications/improvements!)

Thanks, Paul and Rowan. Yes, Rowan. You need to finish the Pup that led to the creation of Pheon. She was so close to being finished when I last saw her and she's such a beauty.
Your Pup is Brilliant, Des. I've often dropped in on your site to take a peek at her. Gorgeous.
Very nice work in the micro scale, Ian. Outstanding rigging.

Here's my first ever biplane kit, the WnW Pup, finished in June 2011. She's pretty rough but after 30+ years of building AFVs, I was pretty happy that I managed to rig and finish it.

Mine is from Airfix, 72nd scale. The biggest issue was levelling of the trenches imitating the tightened linen on the ribs. I used MagicSculp to this end. I have also added some interior. The decals are from Rowan - his first set.

All very nice Pup's indeed. Prez, I am especially impressed with your work in 1/72nd scale. Mighty fine.
I used the PHEON sheet for this one. I saw a photo of it at a model contest and had to do one. One of my favorite WNW kits.

I used the paint mixes as recommended in the WNW instructions and the PHEON booklet. For the prop spinner I used the tip of a 1/48 F-80 Auxiliary fuel tank from the "Spares" box.
The Pheon decals fit like a glove and I had no issues with the decals, either minor or major. Even the blue outline went on quite nicely.
Enjoy

Gorgeous Pup, Mark! I love that scheme. ;D

Wow, Mark! She's stunning! When did you do this one? I don't recall seeing her before.

Thanks Bud and Robert:
I built it January 2012. I saw a picture of one a modeler did for a show in England I think. I was blown away by it and had to do it. What a great kit and what great decals by Pheon!

I thought I had posted these earlier on. Thought I'd add a few pics to the Thread, my WNW Pup representing "Nick" Carters' Pup with Naval 3. I did a lot of digging to confirm the red vs. black cowling and I was "gifted" with Nicks' immediate post war leather flying helmet which is displayed beside this model. Unless the Brisfit proves better this was certainly the nicest Kit and most pleasurable build I've ever done.

Bud,
I feel very fortunate to have a piece of history such as this; particularly since "Nick" has always been a great hero of mine. It was gifted to me by a close friend whose Father used to share Scotch and cigars with Nick, Billy Bishop, and Collishaw amongst others between the Wars. Incredible stories Jack can relate, having met them all in his home as a youngster.
I'll be passing it on to an Aviation Museum ultimately for all to enjoy. He wore it immediately post WWI while still serving.
Cheers,
Lance

Outstanding Pup Lance! I particularly like your treatment of the wheels, seat cushion and chipped paint effect. Very, very nice indeed.

Not much alteration needed from the basic kit apart from opening up the rear of the fuselage. I reskinned the rear decking to reinstate the longerons after sanding, and I had to sand the top of the nose to correct the profile - the kit nose was angled up a little, but nothing major.

I was perusing these Specific Aircraft Builds when I realized I hadn't added my latest Pups, so here they are:
Both are WNW kits, RFC. First up is my interpretation of C312 Night Fighter, Stars and Moon, using the excellent Pheon sheet.

Thank you, everyone. You are most kind with the comments.

I still have to start my WNW Pup - I'm kinda holding out in the hope somebody (hint, hint) will release decals of the colourful Pup I modelled back in the early 90's, courtesy of Eduard and Blue Rider.
Maybe I should have put these pics on the nostalgia board - however I have little nostalgia for the dreadful flash and thick plastic of early Eduard!! How we have progressed over the last couple of decades!
This was a training machine based at Netheravon in 1918.

Well, there's always the painting option if you like that sort of thing

Your Diamond Pup is a Masterpiece! Considering just how challenging building the kit was I would Say Spectacular!

Sandy, I remember this little beauty from wwi-models.org! Loved it then, love it now. Inspired me to buy the Eduard kit back then, but before I could build it, Aeroclub released the injected version of the old vac kit. Much better than the Eduard kit.
Cheers,
Bud

Wow Sandy, that is one colorful Pup. A real beauty.

Thanks guys. You'll inspire me to get back to wwi - less rigging than the old ship I'm working on at present!!
