Lance wanted me to put pics of this sweet kit up.
So here we go. A lovely kit, along with the Roland I think the best 2 WNW's I've built so far.
In my own style I fitted the cowlings before the cylinder assembly, something I always try to do unless a cowlings off build is contemplated.
So on with the pic (if Photobucket plays fair tonight.)
For oce weather stopped me taking the final pics on *das stumpen*

She's a real beauty, Keith. Brilliant idea, leaving the cylinders off until you've finished painting. I'll have to give that a try.
Cheers,
Bud

Lovely workmanship, Keith - great looking model.

Extremely nice!!!!!! As per usual! What's going on with your D.V AMS build??
-
Thanks Keith, The Jasta 18 red/white is one of my favorite schemes. I may save it for an Albie however. (or the DVII waiting in the wings!) I really like the interior work you did on this one.
Cheers,
Lance

Thanks Guys, Lance especially for kicking my backside so many times.. in a good way.
Tony it's plodding along.. not quite stalled, I made the mistake of buying a DVa to quickbuild while I plodded on but it too suffered slight if not so intense AMS then of course Life itself stuck a spanner in the works.. but it's progressing. all be it slowly.

Be still my beating heart!! A Quick-build by Kornbeef?? Odds of that happening can be rationally and favorably compared to surviving a naked dip in a shark tank! And an Albie to boot; can't fool me Keith, you do it to yourself old Friend. (I'll bet the DVa turns up in 6-12 months as a "super-project" and another Oak Stump Masterpiece)
Cheers,
Lance :)

Keith, what paint did you use for the red? It's very fetching and excellently weathered, but I'm wondering what the base colour is.

Andrew.
Citadel Mechrite Red, though theyve just renamed and badged all their paints...dunno the new name but.
It's a lovely deep not too bright red

Keith,
Man you never disappoint, always Master Level work .To me the best part of all your build threads here and elsewhere is all those excellent tips you share with us. I thank you for that and an outstanding project my old friend.

Dear Kornbeef
Very nice model indead. I agree the Pfalz is a great kit.
I rather like your rendering of the leather around the cock-pit.
How did you achieve this effect?

Steven, Hiya thanks,
Once a gain Citadel paints. I used Tallard flesh as a base then overwashed with their Flesh wash which basically is a brown ink that clings to the recesses. I used it for the prop too, a bit dark though. As I posted above theyve recently revamped and changed their range but there seems more variation in tones of washes in there now.

Hello Keith:
Once again, a great job on this kit. I built this past winter and I really liked it as well. I have the Roland and will probably tackle that this year.
Thanks for posting
Best
