Hi From Winnipeg MB
« on: December 19, 2013, 12:13:51 PM »
Time to introduce myself.

Don Robertson, 52 currently in Winnipeg MB serving in RCAF as a Warrant Officer. 31+ years service travelled all over world 2 tours of Afganistan. Platforms I've worked on F-18, Seaking and C-130.
Been building models since a kid. I build ships (350) sailing ships plastic and wood, Armour (35) and Aircraft 48 & 32. The rise of WNW has caught my attention as probably everyone else. Yet to build one but I have 3.
The work I see is inspiring and jaw dropping to put mildly. I have a stash   ::) and when I retire to Nova Scotia it will be game on. Now I have to take the plunge and build a D VII I think, no rigging.
I was recently at the Air Force Museum in Dayton it is truely incredible what man has accomlished in such a short time.

Merry Christmas
Don Robertson

Hello Don and welcome to the forum, so nice to see you here. Sounds as if you have a good deal of modeling experience under your belt so I look forward to seeing your build of the WnW Fokker D.VII.

Welcome Don, you have started at the right place. Hope your re-location goes well and you are soon, to use your words, "Game On"! As another retired RCAF Guy and fellow "Blue noser" forgive me for asking, where in NS are you planning to retire? (I'm from Fall River/Windsor Junction originally just outside of Halifax) Anyways, you'll find the best WWI Aviation Forum a great place to ease back into the Hobby. Welcome, and hopefully we'll see some of your work soon.
Cheers,
Lance

Welcome to a great forum Don, from deep in the heart of rural France.

This is a brilliant place to learn and share , and we've never had such a range of quality kits to work with. In terms of your other fields, maybe one day I'll be able to share my self-inflicted travails over the Trumpeter 1/350 HMS Hood with you!!!

Best wishes
Nigel

Welcome aboard, Don.  Glad you found us.  I think you Canucks outnumber the rest of us by a considerable margin, not that it matters since this forum is like a nation unto itself.  I'm looking forward to seeing your work on these pages.  We also have a section for non-WWI subjects, so feel free to post your ships, armor and other projects.
Cheers,
Bud
