I believe the KP Nieuport 11/16 are based on the old HR Model resin kits.
I will be able to check it in a while as the two Ni.11 kits are on their way to me.

That would be great, and i know I would really appreciate it.

Thank you for all your kind comments, guys.
Now I'd better get on with fulfilling the title part of this build - with Model Cellar's beautiful Billy Bishop figure.

It's a superb resin rendition and I'm not much of a figure painter, but here goes
(It may take some time!)

Rick,

I have no idea where the engine came from.  It was in plastic tray full of engines, probably from old Roden and Toko kits.  I found one that sorta fit and Dremeled it until it did.  It is heavlyly thinned, trimmed and otherwise abused until it fit.  This is a case where it would be easier to just glue the top of the engine supplied by Pegasus and walk away.  The results are almost exactly the same.  But can I do that?  Can any of us do that?  Of course not.

I thank everyone for their comments.

The decals are on the wings and the interior is nearing completion.  Photos soon.

Thank you, all.
Despite the setbacks I did enjoy making an SE5 for a change - and, yes, a yellow one - phew!

Very nice work on the interior. Personally I wouldn't worry about the prop unless you have a photo of the aircraft you are modelling and can prove what type of prop it had. They didn't stick to one type and they were also consumable items that would be changed. But if you want to do more tiny carving, don't let me stop you...... ;)

Cheers matey. You know me I love a good whittle  . . .  ;D

See you soon

Thanks gents! It feels like I am getting somewhere now  :D

You must have eyes the size of saucepans and fingers the size of pins to do this.

That's a disturbing mental image...  ;D

Onto finishing up the interior and fuselage.

The interior bits were installed and painted as per the Wingnuts color guide. I forewent smoothing out and weathering the fuselage interior because most of it won't be visible

The two halves of the fuselage were glued together carefully, and copious amounts of putty was applied to the central and dorsal seams. The whole fuselage was primed and then sanded down to even out the gaps, layer edges and file marks. This process was repeated between 2 and 4 times, depending on the area.

The final smooth fuselage (forgive the finger smudge in the first photo).

And a quick test fit of the tail surfaces.
