Our friends at Special Hobby have confirmed their much anticipated 1/32 scale Westland Whirlwind kit is due for release in April.

It's the first time this aircraft has been produced in 1/32 scale and the model will feature nine plastic parts frames and decals for four marking schemes.

We do seem to be blessed with a plethora of plastic!
Will be a fair sized model, too big for me though.

Over 45+ years ago, I saw what was the first 1/32 scratch built models of any a/c, a beautifully done Whirlwind ! Knowing it was a "not-so-well-known" type, I figured it was a pipe dream to think of actually having an injection molded kit. WHen I heard the SH announcement that one was "in-the-works", my hope was ( that like so many others announcemnets that never did appear) that it would actually be done before I no longer had the skills to do one. Well, seems some dreams do come true !

Special Hobby Has just posted the instructions for the new 1/32 Westland Whirlwind
https://www.specialhobby.eu/out/ftp/media/SH32047.pdf
On the plans, I noticed that on page 12, CMK already is offering 4 different AM pieces, since they are joined at the hip with SH-I doubt that that we will see a HI-Tech version.
I contacted EDUARD about them doing a Color-PE, LOOKplus or 3-d Decal for the Instrument panel, they were non-commital saying they would look into it if sales of the kit were good and there was enough "demand". ( They did do one in 1/48 for the vac/CA/Trumpeter kits in 1998 but sales were poor and that PE (FE710) is no longer avaialbe.
SO, if anyone else is interested in those AM parts, take the time to contact EDUARD and MASTER-MODEL.PL (for brass gun barrels) and lets create that "demand".
