This is getting scary, are they starting to wind down?!?

Seriously? I doubt it very much.

They gave us almost exactly 1 years notice which kits would sell out next... I know what I'm ordering ;)

Quite possibly a Fokker DVII (Alb) or the Gotha, I'm thinking...

Quite possibly indeed ... in fact done ;)

Hello,

like Des said, they are going down like flies :D luckily my money for my birthday present just arrived and I just ordered Gotha and Rumpler as they were on my wish list for some time... I'm more driven by what I want rather than what will sell out next :D
I'm more interested what will 1st April will be like this year :D

Earlier this evening I ordered the OAW and Albatros Fokker D. VII's and the next thing I know the OAW is gone.  I swear I think I must have literally gotten the last OAW Fokker.

So, from this list,

32005 1/32 Gotha G.IV            US$149
32008 1/32 Sopwith Triplane         US$69
32009 1/32 Albatros D.V        US$69
32011 1/32 Fokker D.VII (Fok)        US$79
32015 1/32 Albatros D.Va        US$69
32027 1/32 Fokker D.VII (Alb)        US$79
32030 1/32 Fokker D.VII (OAW)    US$79

it appears the Gotha and Albatros D.Va are next to be sold out.

Having a Gotha, I just ordered a D.Va. That's one less in the dwindling Wingnut Wings inventory

True, but I've built the Fok version and have the F, but I really like the Albatros. That was my first plastic scale model. Built one Wingnut Wings kit and need one more.

It's kind of like a snow ball effect, Wingnuts sell out of a kit so we panic buy the one/ones we really want, then one of those sell out, and so on.
I bet even the guy who cleans the toilets at WNW headquarters lights his cigar with $20 bills  :o

Yes, a snowball effect indeed. Ultimately we may see the last Duellist Felixstowe/W.29 set sold out and WNW will truly be wound up!  :D

Surely they will all reappear with the special editions? ;)

All the sold out kits will re-appear one day under a new box, new decals, new colour schemes, maybe as a duellist set or a special edition kit, Wingnuts are far to smart to just let these kits disappear forever, there is still oodles of money to be made from these "sold out" kits.

I noticed the Pfalz D.IIIa has disappeared from the front
page, replaced by the D.XII...I wonder if the D.IIIa is
next to fall?

Cheers,
Ernie :)

What's a little sad is that to some degree, WNW kits are being bought by speculators, as an "investment".

We all have ridiculous stash's, but we all plan to build them one day, but I'm convinced there are a lot just sat there, waiting for EBay.

I would like WNW to sell a mythical "special edition", or at least publicly give a time-frame for their release. This will dampen down the daft used market.

However, I'm not sure this is in their interests.....

Well spotted Ernie, it's hard to know, we're all guessing and fretting and buying. It's a bit like the speculative Dutch Tulip Madness. :)

insert beautiful image here of rare Tulip Bulb Pfalz D.XII

I reckon get them while the getting is good before they all get plucked.
