Hello Steve, I really like the interior you have produced from the PE set. The accessories you have added are jewel like. I am new to the forum and this is in fact my very first post. I have been making a lot of 1/72 scale Albatros aircraft recently. They are no where near this standard and seeing your work has stopped me in my tracks.   I find it inspirational to see what can be done and so would like to see what I can do.  I am coincidentally making the Roden D III but straight from the box.  I have a very basic question to ask if you don't mind and that is who makes the internal framing for your kit and where can I get it from. It does look slightly intimidating but I would love to have a go at it.  Thank you very much for posting your work it has changed the way I look at my work.

Rufus.

Thanks to you all for the kind words! No updates to post, but I am still working on it a bit every day.

Rufus, welcome to the forum! The photo etched pieces are made by a company called Part, located in Poland. On forum member PrzemoL's recommendation, I ordered them from Jadar Hobby shop, also in Poland. I don't remember exactly how long it took for delivery, maybe 1 month or so? http://www.jadarhobby.pl/samoloty-172-1144-c-18_1358.html?filter_id=10
I believe Part makes photo etch sets for many of the Roden kits. Here are the 2 that I purchased. Quite a few parts on there! The major differences between the D.II (Oeffag) & D.III are the radiators & doors for the gun access on the Oeffag models. Everything else is identical.

Here is a link to PrzemoL's post which is where I first became aware of these parts.

Thank you for the information Steve. I have had a look at the information and the sets of PE that Part produce, very interesting I will need to have a good look at them all.  I will definitely order a set and see what happens.

Thanks, Gregory! Rufus, good for you!!

Very small update: I permanently mounted the guns & made the casing chutes that route spent casings into the small container.

A while back, I glued the fuselage halves together & filled the seam where it would be visible in the cockpit opening. Then, the insides were painted. I left the portion under the engine unglued so that I could get the framework inside later with hopefully, not too many fit problems.

Exhausts painted a bit. Depth of field is not easy at this scale.  :P
