Hello,
Since the W.4 is almost finished - I`ve chosen the one I was waiting for quite a long time ;)
Not much work done, apart from watching the box content more than 100 times ;) Starting this topic, is what I consider a major motviator...
I promise to show something during the next udpate!
-
Looking forward to it, Filip! Starting a build thread usually gets me motivated as well.
Cheers,
Bud
-
Excellent Filip, I'm looking forward to seeing you get started on this one.

Hi,
watching the box is quite promising activity once you build the kits. Firsts you have to find inspiration, the muse! Have you found such one for Dolphin ;D Good choice!

Well, this will definitely be a build to follow, Filip, and what good hands it will be in.
I will be very interested to see what you make of the instrument panel. Having bought the more expensive version of the kit I was surprised to find the main panel just moulded with some raised plastic bezels. I'll remove these and add my own, but I did expect rather more and at the very least, some appropriate decals.
Best wishes
Nigel

I could not agree more. Your last build was as usual outstanding - I do not expect that this will be any different…… so I will follow along.
Stephen.

Like the others I am looking forward to this build!

i always enjoy your builds. i cant wait to see an update.

After finishing the W.4 and the U-boat model it`s high time to get some work done.
I`m seeking any photos of the cockpit area (apart from Windsock 54 -cause I already have it) so that I can super detail it.
I`m in quandary with the cabanes` colour - I`m leaning towards painting them grey or should I leave them in natural wood finish?
What do you think?

Many thanks for your help. Tonight I'll post some pictures of my progress so far.
-
I think I will stick to grey cabanes. The rear ones still need some sanding/filling and the colour I`m going to use will be slightly lighter.
There are still some major touch ups needed, and I`m going to use the pictures to add wiring and plumbing to the cockpit as well as the pump and other instruments. So far I`m pleased with the quality of the kit - it comes along very nice.
I regret that I haven`t ordered the premium kit - not because of the markings cause I`m building the Callaghan`s mount but because of the engine. I thought I could use Karaya`s Hispano Suiza 300 hp but there are some major differences between 200 and 300 hp engines - the one I have is simply too big and not geared.
I think I have to scratch build it or re-work the Karaya`s engine :(
Here are the pictures:

Thanks for your kind words! Terri, I don`t intend to expose the engine, however I think it is visible through the nose opening and these inspection holes. The engine has been ordered thanks to Edgar!
Thanks to the pictures I`ve got from ALBATROS1234 and Przemo I was able to add some more internal rigging and flight control mechanism, rudder pedals structure. I`ve also added the cushion and tried to make the seat more interesting.

Beautiful work so far and great to see these photos. This looks like a much larger scale than 1/48 - a real tribute to your modelling skills.

The engine arrived! It`s absolutely stunning and worth every penny!
I hope to post some pics of the updated cockpit and the engine later tonight.

I`ve assembled the engine. I also got the metal exhausts which are absolutely magnificent. The only thing I added is the spark plugs wiring.
I temporarily abandon the Dolphin in favor of the long awaited Caudron G.4.

I`ve resumed one project that has been sitting in a box for quite a while. I post all the pics once again (thanks Shitbucket...hmmm Photobucket)
I`ve sprayed my mixture of PC 10 and Battleship Grey (based on Tamiya`s Ocean Grey and Olive Drab). The fit is perfect.

That looks very nice, Filip! I especially like the light tone variations on the PC 10.
Ummm, looks like I will have to add the Dolphing to my "to build" list. :) Thanks for the inspiration!

I had put away this model a few times even though it`s a really pleasant kit to build. I`ve decided to finish it, before I start something new.

I would paint it in a different way if I were doing it now but I`ll still apply some oils to make it more interesting.

Like the others I am glad to see this one being worked on again! At first glance I thought I was looking at another WNW kit! Looks spectacular to date.

That's a beautiful job on a great Kit Filip. I saw one of these at the IPMS Ottawa Canada Capital Convention last Summer and it took a number of medals and the "Best in Show" Award in a field of over 400 entries, it was a spectacular model. I have to say yours is looking just as good already. Keep up the fantastic work! 8) 8) 8) 8)

Filip, you start the thread with:
watching the box content more than 100 times
and that is exactly what I have done.
But before I have to finish the started projects, but then I like to try to convert my kit in such a beauty you delivered here!
Cheers,
Frank

Filip I am glad as well you are back on this build, I love the kit and I love your works as always!
