Hi everybody , from beautiful New Mexico USA
« on: April 30, 2014, 08:49:59 AM »
I just found this site recently and have really enjoyed looking at the great models, tips etc.

I'm returning to aircraft modeling after a loooooong layoff and it's great to see all the great new kits and techniques involved in making a really good model.

My recent return into model making involved a 1/48 Eduard Albatros D V, the first biplane I've ever attempted. After beating my head against the wall and cursing endlessly, I finally finished it. I'm hoping to build some of the great 1/32 scale kits I've seen. I tell ya what......the 1/48 scale stuff is hard to see, especially the rigging.

Anyway....happy to be here.

Hello nmroberto and welcome to this wonderful forum. I'm glad you got that first biplane under your belt, notwithstanding all the cursing and head banging! I'm sure you felt a great sense of achievement and with one done, others are sure to follow.

Best wishes
Nigel

Thanks for the warm welcome, as I said, I'm completely new and still partially lost when it comes to WWI aircraft but they are fascinating.  Something about them is  so great,  almost like they are organic with all the wood, fabric, and spider webs of rigging.

Hi and welcome aboard. It sounds strange to me to welcome you here, as you're more at home than I am, in a geographic way I mean...
