Great paints Rick - have you used the alkyd  before? I've found plain white spirit gives an overnight dry time and 24 hrs in a warm environ sees it handleable.

Recently got in a package of items from Costas at GasPatch, some more Lewis guns for my Nieuports in 2 varieties, an assortment of the early Lewis gun drums, a collection of 6 different Vickers guns, and some more of the German air speed indicators.  The material he uses on the Lewis guns are an improvement over the orange colored ones I ordered from them a few years ago, you can even see between the barrel and gas tube on the Lewis.  Also Costas included a flyer for the upcoming WW2 type biplane  :o and a cool button/pin for the Salmson.

Tug,
I tried them out on the Prop on my Pfalz. I found them to work just as you suggested. As for thinner I have used Testors Model Master thinner for Oils of all kinds for years. It acts in the same manner as white spirits .

Not sure about what I will use the red on. Could be a Triplane, DVII, or the Albatros  8)

Hi Rick,

After doing the Camel parts with traditional oils I found the speed at which these dry to be a huge improvement and definitely a massive aid to my impatience to get on ( ::)).
I intend to extend my few tubes - just wish I had thought a bit ahead when a local shop had some 'when they're gone they're gone' for a pound a tube.

Regards - Tug

Yep, a pound per tube would have been a good buy! I paid $5.95 US, a tube at a local art supply outlet store called Cheap Joes. He has a web site and I believe ships anywhere. My Son, who now is in Amsterdam working for Booking.com as a web designer actually designed cheap Joes original web site. The good news is I have a local store that I can drive to in 10 minutes that carries the entire line!

These arrived during the week  :) (Total cost including import VAT etc a few pence over £60 each so I'm well chuffed with that).

Save one kit they now complete my stash of all those that Wingnuts do that I would like to build should I survive long enough. I'm fairly realistic that that isn't likely to be achieved but it's nice to think I have them to be able to try  ;)

The one that's missing is the (Sopwith) Triplane but I guess one will turn up sooner or later. All that I have to do now is wait patiently for the future releases - whatever they might be.

Regards - Tug
