Great story, mac...true to form, sounds like...you're right, his book is an excellent read also...only read it twice though... so far. The coolest passages in both of those guys books was when they described the times that they'd be on a job and get separated from their flight and being solo, just go wonderfully, joyfully crazy with the sensation of just flying, cloud jousting and the like and then on the way home buzzing brass in their open cars.                           -M

OK, so it's not a WWI aircraft but it is my latest acquisition.  I have a fondness for ugly unusual Russian aircraft and flying boats so this was irresistible.

Will it ever get built?  Who knows, but at least now I have the option.  ;)

Very nice pick-up Eric, not so ugly though, I have seen worse.

No, it is not ugly. It has those sea-gull wings (or Polish wings) which were designed by Z. Puławski in 1929 in PZL P.1 fighter and gave birth to the whole line of similar fighters. I am currently completing the model of it, more will follow soon in Time to Relax section

Hehe...point taken Des and Przemol, not so much ugly as unusual and with kind of a brutish elegance.  Something the Russians do so well!

Cheers,
Eric

Hello All

We've just got back from the UK and in the flight bag there was just enough room for the following:

The Datafiles are almost all in very good condition and one or two are in near mint condition. Only the BE2e is a bit tired, but then not surprising given its age. The Osprey is in mint condition. For all twelve books I paid £60; so, £5 each, which seems a bargain.

And some plastic, bought as new

I've been meaning to get it for a long time. There is just a bit of thin flash here and there. One thing I did notice is that one of the box side panels shows a picture of a small etched metal set. Yet there is no such set in the box and the instructions fail to make any mention of one. Do others who've got or build the kit know anything about this?

Best wishes
Nigel

That's a terrific haul Nigel! Yes I would think of 5 pounds ea as a real bargain! As for the PE I know that mine included the PE. It had bomb panels and control horns/wires.

You "made out like a bandit" on the Data Files, Nigel! I had a similar fortunate incident years ago, dropped into an IPMS Chapter Contest in Victoria while visiting my Mother, and found a Vendor just packing up his display. I got over a dozen mint condition Data Files and 6 or more Flashback Kits for $120 Canadian, all the cash I had on hand! What a bargain, good on you! ;)
Cheers,
Lance

I sold the Land Rover at the weekend so I literally have a huge stack of £20 notes to fritter away...  ;)

All bought at a knock-down price.  ;D

Nice catch Squiffy, there's a lot of enjoyment in that small pile! Where does a fellow find "knock down prices" on Wingnut Kits?? :-\
Enjoy!

Very nice pick-up Squiffy, pity the Land Rover had to go, it had a really cool paint job.
