Hi all,I'm very intrigued by this machine shared by our own PJ Fisher in On This Day thread:Quote from: PJ Fisher on June 28, 2022, 10:32:05 PMNew French Plane(from the Sydney Mail, 28 June 1916):Quote from: PJ Fisher on June 29, 2022, 11:24:17 PMQuote from: KiwiZac on June 29, 2022, 09:28:31 AMForgive my ignorance, all: what exactly is it? You can't believe anything you read in the Sydney Press, it is a captured and repainted German LVG C.II.
This should be one of the downed LVG C. II by Jean Navarre. It was photographed excessively.Andreas
A good thread to start would be 'spot the error in this' and post incorrect pictures or descriptions. I saw an article once about histories top 10 giant aircraft. Not surprisingly it mentioned the SSW R.VIII but had a picture of a Staaken.Alan.
Mystery solved!
