I am staking out this space to do my build log of Aviattic's 1:32 multimedia "Marienfelde" Dr 4-5 LKW. My kit is a preproduction version; I know that many details have changed since the parts I have were made.
No box shot available yet, so I will reuse this photo once again of the major kit parts stuck together with PVA, posing with my Albatros.

it's very hard to find much reference for this vehicle. My plan for this build is to detail the engine compartment and make a few modifications to the coachwork.

Wonderful truck.

It's amazing how those old engines run so sweet :) thanks for the link Bo.

Yes!
BTW, the motor in the video is a Daimler La 1264,and it is indeed the same type as used in the "Marienfelde" 4-5d LKW. (I suspected this when I posted the link, but I've since been able to confirm it thanks to a document Richard has recently shared with me and which I was able to get translated...)

Nope! Try as I might, I couldn't seem to talk Richard into flying me or my model over. :D
But I can't talk now, must get to back to work on the instruction booklet... ;)

New batch of parts for the truck arrived today -- I think these are still pre-production standard, but they must be getting close now. I understand the production chassis frame will have brass reinforcements cast in to keep any tendency to warp in check.
Above the PE sheet you can see a nice little length of miniature chain. The chain is provided for the "sprags" -- you learned a new word today kids. The Germans called these "bergstütze" --"mountain struts" -- they were lowered manually to keep the vehicle from rolling when parked on an incline (i.e. a primitive parking brake.) The chain holds these sprags up when not in use...

Looks like a very well designed kit! I need more hours in the day to build all this great stuff coming out these days!

Looks to be an impressive kit, looking forward to seeing it go together.

Des,
If Bo is building it you might have a long wait. Right now he is probably researching how to construct scale working door latches. ;D
Seriously though get on with it Bo! ;)

Apart from the working door latches he is probably also working out the bore and stroke of the engine so he can make pistons with piston rings, gudgeon pin and con rods ;) ;) :D
