And Richard, here is an annotated description of metal work:
Parts were primed with Tamiya matt aluminium (next time I will try with a metalizer, like Alclad to get the same shine and colour beneath and showing through incidental gaps)
Templates of the parts were made with masking tape applied and burnished with a pencil to highlight contours.
Template was applied on Bare Metal foil (I used Chrome, next time will be dull aluminium as the final look is a little too shiny) cut with care and applied then -
- Burnished as much as possible (on second thought, next time I will try to remove raised details such as fasteners and louvres, to reposition after metal foil set)
Finally, scales were drawn with a fine tip Molotow liquid chrome pen (keep picture handy for pattern reference).
No varnish has been applied to metal parts, to keep natural shininess.
