generic Jasta 4 bird with Lozenge wings and no personal markings. ( Would give me a chance and reason to order the Aviattic Pfalz wing lozenge

I strongly support the "generic" choice of subject, just to see you working with the Pfalz-specific lozenge decals.

Stefan

Just finalising new Aviattic Pfalz DIIIa "cookie" lozenge decals - won't be long....!

Best wishes - looking forward to these two!
Richard

Thanks Richard. I will order when they are ready!

  Rick,
Outstanding progress my old friend. I'm very much looking forward to joyfully following this thread. I thought the WNW Salmson would be a popular item and I'd see many a interesting build threads all over. But alas wrong again. To date I've only seen two or three, even allowing for my long absence that isn't many. Now I've got one to follow and have no doubts what so ever it be Outstanding.

Highest Regards,
Gregory Jouette

PS: What shade of blue is that you used on her fuel tank and metal fittings? Beautiful color too.

Thanks Gregory, as always your comments are appreciated! As for the color of Dark Horizon Blue WNW calls for 25109. I used an OLD Poly S color equal to 35109  ;D

Great to see you start a Salmson, Rick. Such a lovely WNW kit, and so rarely seen under construction. Looking forward to see it unveil.

Excellent beginnings, Rick.  Your wood tones are really well done,
and I think your choice of the blue is spot on, my friend!

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Thanks! By the way I am using your build, as well as Chris's as reference and inspiration.  ;D

Hi Rick:

This is a great airplane.  If you plan on having the engine buttoned up, you needn't do much painting.    When I got the rigging on mine, I rigged the cabane struts first with the wing center section only; made it so much easier.  Once the upper wing was on, I used EZ line to rig and when the rigging was done, I popped in the interplane struts.  Made the daunting rigging quite a piece of cake.
I look forward to your build and will follow along Rick.

Thanks Mark! By the way your rigging method sounds interesting... Don't think I have the guts to try it that way though  :-[

Thanks Lukas! Here is the next update. I have continued with the cockpit work. The firewall and instrument panel is just placed in position. I have weathered the floor with burnt sienna and black oil washes. I am now ready to do washes on the frames and rig the side panels. Still looking a bit rough but after touch up should be good to go  8)
