The rules are super easy to follow.
I post a picture of one of my completed models - A Pfalz DIIIa ::). The next forumite posts their version of the same completed model followed by a different aircraft. The next bloke in the thread posts his version of the model before him and his new one. Simples!
This is only for Aircraft.
Have fun my lovelies.

Can I raise you guy's 5 Pfalz D.IIIa ? I mean would this be a royal flush in the aircraft world ? It trumps every thing !
Well I don't have a FE-2a/b in build so I'm out .
Terri
-
Des can slam the door shut at any time y'know. FE.2b? I see yours and raise a Battaille. :D

Yep. That would bring it to a screeching halt, wouldn't it?
Cheers,
Bud

Lol... Even a crummy Battaille? Anyone? Didn't think so.

Someone's got a Fee surely? ;)
Plenty of great models on this forum better than mine...

Nice to see some builds with spokes although all the models look great. I have a Fee, but in the stash still. My latest project is a 1:1 house.....
-
Yeap, I have a Fee ;)
And I might probably pause the game (for some time at least) with:
Friedrichshafen FF.49, Aviatik D.II, Lohner MkN, Macchi M.5, Albatros Dr.I or... or... or... ;)
But I will be merciful ;)
How about a ...
Hanriot HD.1? (I trust there are some 48th scale Eduard models in your collections)

you took your time! ;D
Cheers,

I had some hard days recently, no time for scrolling the forum, I noticed this thread only today.
-
Anybody with an Hanriot???
-
Lovely models, Ray. But Fee was already there. Now you should start with an Hanriot and add another one.
-
Hi Guys,
No can do-I helped build a 1-3 scale Hanriot some years back but can't find the photos- so please ignore my previous posting. :-[ I look forward to someone showing us their Hanriot next. There must be many out there!

Speaking of keeping the game ticking over, I seem to have stalled the action with that DH4, Bob. :-[ If it's alright with you, I'd like to include Ninaks with the DH4 or include all Airco two seaters. What say ye, von Gamester?
Cheers,

I got a DH-4 , just not built yet and if you guy's wait on me on getting this done we are going to be here for a very long time .

However to find a model that others might be able to match is a little difficult as I do not have a Pfalz, in fact apart from pushers I do not have many models that will withstand too close scrutiny.
So a Fee conversion will have to do which gives us all chance to ogle Prez's wonderful Fee again!

I really like the Pup, Michael. The weathering is outstanding.
Unfortunately I don't have a W4 Albatros, so I can't add to the game but adding a few seaplanes to the fleet is on the 'to do' list.

Well, I have a Roden's W.4 but I am not too proud of it. It is one of my first WW1 models, with self printed decals which I better not mention any more. Anyway, here it is

Absolutely Lovely builds. Michael, You really must have Surprised Bud on this one :-X Prez, just a fantastic job on that Siemens! Hard to believe it is 1/72nd and Toko to boot!

Fabulous stuff, guys! Yes, Michael, you did surprise me. I had forgotten your earlier endeavors. Brilliant W.4. So glad you were able to participate. Proud of you, buddy.
Cheers,

Glad to join in the fun! But, I'm afraid my hand is played out now.....no more surprises unless we count kits still in the box.
Thanks for the kind words on the W.4 guys. I look forward to getting back to it and applying what I've learned on the Pup.
Some great builds in this thread!
Cheers,
Michael

Someone has to re-start this, so here's my SSW D.IV. Not one of my best models but it gets the game going again.

Hey guys.....those are some fine looking builds! Man, I love that Nieuport 28 in the American livery....it was always my favorite of the old 1/72 Revell kits back in the 60s.
Cheers from NYC,

PS Yes, its good you restarted Bob's game.....if you can do anything to restart his hair follicles, please let me know, too.

LOL
I'm afraid there is nothing that can be done for my slap-head, Michael! But every cloud has a silvery lining - think of the money I'm saving on shampoo! Less hair means more plastic! Bingo!!
Baldy Von Buckles :P

Right back at, ya, fellow chrome-dome. Maybe we should start a thread for bald heads.
OK...no more side tracking of this one!!

Got to say that these more recent models are absolutely first rate. I do not have a Nieuport 28 so cannot join in, but I am enjoying looking at the efforts of others.

As the Germans say: Wo der Verstand wächst, muss das Haar weg. Which means, where the wisdom grows, hair has to go. :)
Hope to join this game soon, brilliant idea!

Great models, Lance and Squiffy! I love this game! So glad to see it's return. Thanks, Squiff!

Wow, Bud! These are both beauts but that Albatros is spectacular.
This takes me back to the days when you and I were first I touch. It was the inspiration of your builds that got me back into my first model building love, WWI Aero, that I left so long ago.
You guys keep 'em coming!

Where is Brad Cancian when you need him? :D

I'm guessing they're his, Michael, but I've been wrong before. They're gorgeous, Przemo!
Cheers,

Sorry, I thought they were known. Albatros is Roden's 72nd scale and Spad is Roden's 32nd scale. And yes, I built them. :)
-
Okay, thanks for the info. I knew they were your biuilds but just wasn't sure of who the manufacturers were.

Nice to see this going again and terrific work on all the newest additions! Alas that after 7 years my SPAD VII is still not done :-(

I have just discovered this thread and enjoyed looking thru all what has been presented. I would love to add a couple of mine but I have no Spad VII to tag with.
Alan.

Are we stalled?
Or could we ask Des to produce his lovely Spad, which was a guideline when I was building mine?
-
yeah i remember the spad vii des built from the aerodrome days.

If we started a "shelf-of-doom and uncompleted-due-to-frustration" thread tag game I bet we'd come up with all sorts of interesting matches!

Well, I was so inspired by Des' Bleriot that I decided to do a build and diorama last night. I think the water came out especially well and looks very realistic:

So, as far as "seeing my Bleriot and raising it", I'm afraid that's up to the salvage crew.
(Sorry for the interruption.....couldn't resist.)

As a fellow Artist who spends to much time "out the box"I see your humour.I think the B leriot may be the "Trump" card! ;)

"Out of the box" it is!
But surely there's another Bleriot build out there????
Who's going to step up and match Des????

Well I will drop the ante down again with my scratch build Bleriot XI in God's Own Scale…… It is a Bleriot XI, honest. (Just that it is a Penguin trainer - more details in the build log in scratch builds, and completed models section on this site if you are interested).

George, can you show us what these look like before they are assembled? Specifically, how much "painting" is done to them as the come?
MS
-
Michael,
Here is the Nieuport 11. I didn't design the model, but i repainted it extensively in Photoshop. I adjusted the color, added shading and light weathering, and changed the markings to the rose. Since this isn't my original design, it shouldn't be printed. The original can be found at http://www.ecardmodels.com/index.php/aircraft/military.html?cat=5 (http://www.ecardmodels.com/index.php/aircraft/military.html?cat=5) where they have about 560 WW1 model airplanes to buy and download, as well as thousands of other paper models! They are very inexpensive - most under $10.

Fascinating stuff, George. I love the idea of "repainting in Photoshop". The possibility for making accurate and/or personalized models has never been greater.

That Fokker D VII is almost unbelievable - and in paper too! If I tried that I would end with a crumpled mess!!

Beautiful paper model George. What do you need computer/printer-wise in order to successfully download and print these kits? I checked out the E-Card website, and most apperar to be download models. I assume that proficiency with Photoshop would be necessary to get the colors right in some cases, and generally helpful in tweeking things in any event. Are you aware of any good guides or tutorials for building these WWI paper kits?

Bob

Thanks, Bob!
Most computers and ink jet printers will do a great job printing these kits. Don't use a laser printer because the ink will flake off when the parts are folded or rolled.
There is a great forum called papermodelers.com that has all the expert info you will ever need. It's sort of like this forum with a great group of modelers all willing to share their work and help out those who are new at it, except it focuses only on paper models of every type, not only WW1 aircraft. The site even has a section with free downloadable kits to print and build. A lot of them are quite nice!
Also check out the work of some of our forum members in our Paper Model section. I think most of these members are also from the papermodelers forum.
