Wow my friends, what a overwhelming feedback! THANK YOU ALL!
When you say nearly OOB but not quite - given your skills just wondering whether this means minor tweaks the way modelling mortals understand it or more significant?
I replaced the middle of a grey part by a piece of streched clear sprue, with a small hole inside. Looks now more real.
The kit offers two options for the belt construction, this one has recesses in the belt wheels and plastic "belts":
The other option are normal belt wheels, but you need to scratch the belt material. I tried paper, alu and other things, but had problems due to the very thin and filigree axles (should have replaced them by metal). So they don't like even the lightest force
I used finally flat rolled lead wire, with that even the crossed belt works.
A very prominent copper wire was added too.
The highlight of the kit is a 0.2mm copper PE fret with parts for the chains and wheels:
The kit provides a jig for the wheel halves, here a main wheel (the front wheel one to be done on the other side):
So only some minor things are changed.
I can’t see the photos on my iPad, so I am missing the Benz
The way Google delivers the pics, triggers a bug on the iPad browser. If you reply on my posting, then you see the links. If you copy that link into the address bar, also the iPad can display those pictures.
