hello all,

whats the best way of getting a good line on the underside of wings with all the complex curves involved. i'm guessing it's masked, but having never done this before any tips and help
would be much appreciated. thanks in advance

Hi Michael,

I use to mask them with Tamiya Masking tape. The first stripe of tape is appr. 3-4mm wide. This helps to follow the curves wihout knitting the tape. The second stripe can be at about 10mm and I overlay it upon the first stripe.

Michael,
I trace the wing curves on wider strips of Tamiya tape using the wing as a template or guide. Once cut on it goes and then the mask (paper) is attached to the tape on the wing. I've had great results with this method as opposed to leaving cut marks on my CDL trimming the tape in place!

Lance thats the way i was thinking of going, if i understand Dirk correctly he bends thin strips of tape around the curves.

i think i will try both methods and see how it goes.

another method is the reverse. paint the wing pc-10 then mask the edges and shoot cdl in the center area.
