I managed to get hold of a WnW Fokker E-IV during the Wingnuts sale of damaged kits. My kit arrived with next to no damage apart from to the box and some mold growing on the plastic bags. I had always planned to pair this together with the RB productions Eindecker Wing Kit anyway so I was lucky.
The fuselage frame was scratch built from brass tube as was the fuel tank. The fuselage had to be lengthened slightly from the measurements provided by RB productions to match the longer E-IV.
Rigging was with 0.12mm mono and was needed to support the weight of the PE wings. Wings and fuselage all soldered together. I had no soldering experience prior to this, but Dr Google and some practice helped a lot here.

Beautiful build!
That turned out amazing, well done.
What did you use for the linen strips in the wing structure?
Thanks for sharing.

LT,
That's some extremely lovely and very impressive work! I just attempted soldering for the first time as well recently, but certainly not in this league! You've produced a really beautiful model, and I hope you'll be submitting more!
Cheers,
Lance

Thanks all for the kind words. The linen tape is made with white tape 1mm wide. It has been sprayed with matt coat to take the shine off of it.
And thanks to you Des for your great site. I have used this immensely to help with the build.

Another guy started to solder stripdown models together - welcome in the club ;D
I really like the result, due to the bigger scale it shows so much lovely details, much more compared to my E.III in 1/72.
Beside the RB stuff there is a WNW strip down possible with Aviatic/Shapeways printed parts for a Fokker D.VII.
Thanks for showing this beautiful model!

Frank
