Thanks Rick, Patrick, Nigel and Ernie:
@ Ernie: My next Tripe I am going to try the oils over acrylics. I think I will have better luck. This Roden Tripe was my first venture into 1/32nd and trying to get the streaking down after a few other attempts on different kits, not shown. In my excitement at getting this thing finished, I totally forgot to put the instruments in!!! What a Moon Calf! Oh well.
@ Rick: The Aurora kits go together so well. The were made for kids back in the 50's to put together and the fit is really amazing. I know they don't hold up well today, but; they are still fun to build and experiment with and look pretty decent. Lance's Aurora DVII with surgery, really looks the business. I think my Roden effort still holds up.
@ Nigel and Patrick: Thanks again Nigel for stopping by and your comments. Patrick, no skills required, just "dam the torpedoes and full speed ahead" and what happens is what you get. The skill just sort of comes with it. I still consider myself an amateur when I look at the work displayed here. Each one is a learning experience and we build to our own level and satisfaction. That to me is what the hobby is about.
Best
Mark
