Here is my completed DH2. I was very much glad to call this one finished. The rigging was as much fun as you think it would be, and by the end everytime I sat down to add a couple of wires I inadvertently broke one of the previous ones. I added the wonderful Eduard photoetch set to the model. In my opinion, a must for this kit.

Very nicely done Chris. I immediately was drawn to the small detailing such as the "scale" windscreen on the Lewis Gun, lovely touch! Is that the Kit part or your own construction?
Also, how did you do the "peeling" of the roundels, a very realistic effect?
Cheers,
Lance

Chris,
Absolutely beautiful project my friend. Outstanding skill and craftsmanship really shine in your DH-2 from her construction, detailing, decals and weathering. Truly a total awesome build.
It really does me good to see a Roden kit built up to such high standards. Some consider Roden's kits as not worthwhile as I personally prefer kits that require more from myself rather than from the kit itself. That's why I prefer old less than perfect kits as well. This in no way is a veiled slam on Wingnut Wings or any other high end kit as they're excellent kits too. After all we as modelers all have our preferences.

Lance, the windscreen and the support for it are from the Eduard kit. The peeling roundels were just some of the base wing color dabbed with a small brush atop the decal.

I agree whole-heartedly with what Gregory has said here, a truely awesome looking model in all aspects, the weathering is superb.

Great DH2 Chris!
Excellent weathering, and rigging too.
I particularly like your worn roundel effect. Very convincing.
Looking forward to viewing your next work. :)

Thanks Chris, I really am impressed with your results. I am using the same technique along with some aggressive hairspray peeling on the distressed finish of my Donald MacLaren Camel; seeing your results here are very encouraging!

Lovely to see a pusher. Even better to see one constructed and weathered in this way. Outstanding all round.

Glad everyone is liking it. One thing I want to mention though. When I finally finished everything, I sprayed a coat of dullcoat over the entire plane. I dont know if anyone noticed but it really made the rigging HUGE and White. I used invisible thread and it was initially very small, well...live and learn.
Honestly, the rigging on this one was such a chore that this may just be my last WW1 plane. It really started to get un-fun in the end. Not sure how some of you guys push through. So many of the models here have rigging far more elaborate than mine.

Chris, altough being late in commenting I think that's one of the best DH 2s I've ever seen. You did a great job and it's hard to tell if it's the WNW or the Roden kit.
I know what you mean regarding the rigging, but I can only encourage you not to quit WWI modelling as we expect more such beauties off your bench. I think all other scouts do have less wire then the DH 2 pusher so it will be much easier next time ;)!

Time to decompress. :D

A nice one! Pushers are very dear to me. Mostly because they have just enough rigging. :)
