Eduard Nieuport 16
« on: January 11, 2017, 05:21:24 PM »
My first completion for 2017, Eduard's delightful 1/48th scale Nieuport 16. This is from the double combo Nieuport kit offering a Nieuport 11/ 16 and a  Nie 17.

The Nieuport is nicely detailed and has no vices. It's hand painted and the rigging is 5amp electrical fuse wire, rolled under a flat steel ruler and attached with Elmer's Glue.

Paints used are Citadel, Vallejo and some mixes of Humbrol. The base is a home made affair dressed with model railway scenic groundwork.

I like to have mixed scale projects running in parallel so this has been the latest 1/48th build alternating with a Special Hobby 1/32 Bristol M.1c .

A beautiful looking model David with an excellent overall finish, I love the red colour you used on the fuselage, very well done.

That scheme is definitely a winner, Dave, and you've done a great finishing job on her. Hard to believe it's all brush painted, nicely done!

Truly great model there. Glad to read that someone else uses wire for rigging - personally I find it the best material in the smaller scales.

Nicely turned out Dave. I have to echo Lance's comment on the great finish you've achieved with a brush - well done!
Cheers,
