Yes Zac he certainly does... spent a year and a half in the trenches, spent a year and a half in bombers/observation aircraft before he ever sat in a fighter plane... He claimed two victories before he became a fighter pilot, one as an Observer/Gunner and another as a Pilot, both unconfirmed... (probably more than two, many historians feel he has many more than 80 victories, some say over 100) The last half of his term as a fighter pilot he spent more time getting his picture taken and on vacation than he did in the air... He was a member of the Russian peace treaty delegation in 1917 along with his brother Lothar and spent two months there... He served on all fronts of the war both on the ground and in the air...
He was an extraordinary fighter pilot, and today is more legend that man...
I hope I can do him justice through modeling all of his aircraft... (including the bombers, which includes the AEG G.II and Gotha G.I which he rode the nose position in both)
Research is still ongoing....
I think it will be an enjoyable path... (of course there is also the possibility that my minds eye is bigger than my abilities as well) {chuckle}
