Lovely work indeed yes.

On the price in the UK issue I agree totally, actually found it much cheaper to buy from Jadar in Poland the last time I bought Roden but that was a while ago.. I was buying a batch of P of P etch at the time and the kits just...well you know  :P

But still causes head scratching how getting something from over the water is cheaper than here at home???

Keith

Thanks, Keith -

Just in case you are not aware - ModelZone are knocking out the 32nd scale Roden's for £30 (on the older range) and are offering the Nieuport 24 biz for 39.99 (still a bit pricey) in their sale.   This SSW DIII I found from a supplier on the web ('Oxion plastic') for 33 quid with a very reasonable £1.50 postage.  I don't know where you live in the UK, but MZ at Lakeside, Essex still have the N28 for 30 quid.

Luckily, I've got the Fokker DVI and Spad VII that I got from the MZ sale so will keep me going for a bit.

Regards

Dave

Dave I'm in Tonbridge..ish.

MZ on the web, nice thanks for the heads up, I want another DIII, I dream of WNW releasing one but hey theres so many unmoddelled options for them to choose from I can't realistically seeing it happening.  Rodens Albies scrub up well with a bit of TLC...  ;)

Thanks, Graham -

Not a bad kit overall but watch out for a few areas of difficult fit - especially bad is the lower wing to fuselage join.   I found I needed to do lots of trimming, filing and cutting to get a reasonable fit here.

Good luck on your build and look forward to seeing how you get on, mate.

Thanks for the tips.  By the way, your monica, did you used to fence?  I wielded a foil in my younger days (3rd in the Herts under 14 foil, 1973!  :)).

A very nice model
The wood effect on the fuselage is superb and the golden snake adds something to catch our eyesight...
As for the prices in the UK, it's the market that makes the prices :-)
Sometimes Italeri are cheaper in France and Germany than in Italy...

Dave, apparently this is a tricky kit to put together, but you've done a great job, mate. I'll join in the praise for the wood finish, as well.

Beautiful work.

Dal.

Albatros, Dale & Gregory -

Thanking you kindly, gentleman!

Dale - Yes, this is on of Roden's tougher builds (but not impossible) but I always expect them to be 'fiddly' even before I start a Roden kit.   The best one (so far) in this scale has been the Neiuport 28 - a really, simple uncomplicated and fairly straightforward build.
