Secretly I have been adding WW1 32 scale aircraft to the collection . My first build was WNW Se5a and my second build is the N-17 . Need something German now to balance things out . So with the Mustang in the painting stage now it won't be long before I have that one wrapped up and need a new project . I was able to finally find some ez-line here in Canada , order has been placed and should have that by the end of next week .

Sieben will be taking part as well ...
Progress will start soon

Cool subject, and beautiful helper. Looking forward to your progress.

Thanks guys for the show in interest , it has been over a year since my last WW1 build . Minus the N-17 :) . So I really looking forward to this build . All ready have fondle the parts many times over and re-reading the instruction sheet . I don't like the kit markings though and will either go with aftermarket decals or just doing the box art markings which aren't covered in the instructions . It will be OOB expect for rigging and turnbuckles . Have way to many kits to going gun ho with the details .
Yes , he is a good looking helper and few folks I know want to steal him . He is a Lilic point siamese and almost a year old .

Someone get that cat a sanding stick.
Ryan
-
God no , his claws are sharp enough thank-you . It's bad enough that he pulls them off the workbench and plays with them all over the house .
Terri
-
With the Mustang finished I have started on this with getting the engine assembled . Not must to show really but should have some progress photo's of progress .
Terri
-
why not try a Taurus engine Terri? it's very visible on this kit. Regards Pete in RI.
-
Ooh nice Terri,
How do we know that it wasn’t your cat that built your group build entries?
Guy ;D

My kitty, Felicia, loves to steal Q-tips and pipe cleaners from my spray booth but otherwise she's well behaved in my shop.

He won't be building this one either Guy , but he is good at breaking them . He did number 4 on Friday knocking my Tamiya 32 scale birdcage corsair off the shelf >:( >:( >:( >:( .

Ooooh , she is cute Eric ! How old is she ? Sieben will jump on my lap for attention and he goes for more then just q-tips . Most of the time he curls up by my feet , he's always by my feet . tips me up some times as well .
Stephen , you are always more the welcome to follow along .Wouldn't have it any other way :)
Here is some progress to finally report with . Engine is assembled and ready for paint and cockpit parts are cleaned and ready as well . Painting will begin tomorrow .

She's 7. We got her and her brother Felix from a rescue center when they were about 6 months old.

Sieben will be a year old come June 15 and he is getting into a little more then what he should of late .

Thanks for the invite Terri - what you have done so far looks very good indeed. Another winner i the making here!
Stephen.

Made a bit of progress on the Fokker . Still have a few things to touch up before the weathering starts and I need to finish the detail painting on the engine .
I don't mind the ez-line but it has a flat cross section and hard to thread through tubing . It has it's applications but I will seek out mono line instead for future builds .

;)

And the engine
Terri

Engine and pit look great Terri!
RAGIII

Thanks Rick :)

Great start Terri, looking forward to more (I am sure Sieben is helping ;D)

Thanks Juan for dropping by and having a peak , yes so far Sieben has been very helpful and has left a hair in the painting of the parts so far .
Terri

Very nice interiors, luckily my kitten Jimmy doesn't help a lot in modelling as he is a 9 kg (20 lbs.) 10 years old ginger cat. But spreads cat's hair everywhere, including painting areas.
Waiting for next updates.

Great progress!!

Giuseppe , he is a handsome cat indeed . Beautiful orange tones in his coat . My guy has a longways to go yet , but he is improving on staying off the bench . Just wish his hairs would do the same .
Thanks Steve for having a peak :)

Just gotta love a long weekend . Got my front yard cleaned up , did some trail riding and bench time was had .
The cockpit is finished along with the fuselage side walls . Rest of the engine is completed as well , halves closed up and made a start on the landing gear assembly . This hasn't been glued in place yet . Its just in place while the glued joins dry staying in alinement

:D

Brilliant work on the cockpit, T!

That was quick! You went from interior details to having the fuselage finished in a very short time. Looks excellent though.
Stephen.

Lightning build, and very fine so far.

Thanks guys for tagging along :) In all honesty , there really isn't many parts for this one so it has been a rather quick build so far and most enjoyable :)
Terri
-
The best kind of build!
-
Very ture Ken ;)
Not much time in front of the bench over the weekend , had great weather and time well spent outdoors ! This is where I'm at right now . I primed in flat white , will be using pencil crayons for the framework and black primer for the metal areas . I have never done the squiggly lines before and a bit nervous .
-
:)
-
And other bits ready to go ....
Terri
-
Looking good T! I know what you mean about those squiggles. One reason I have not done one of these...yet.
RAGIII
-
Gret job, Terri. Everything clean and sharp build. Looking forward to your next steps.
Bye,
Manni
-
Looking forward to your squiggles, she is looking great. :D
-
You might want to practice the squiggles on some scrap before doing the real thing.
-
Thanks guys for the replies and following along . Sorry I didn't reply back sooner , but I have been busy of late . I will try it out on a scrap build first and if it goes well then I can move forward with it . If not then just straight alum it will be .
Terri
-
With all the smoke in the air from the fires I haven't spent any time outdoors which gave way to bench time instead . Out came the airbrush and I went to town and have the scheme colours on and pretty much done with the painting . A few detail still but it's all minor stuff . I'm doing the squiggle lines now and will have the results post in a few days .
-
:)
You can see my start on the cowl with the squiggles .
-
:)

:)
-
Looking good Terri, looks like you are getting the best out of your bench time.
-
Nice progress T! Your start on the squiggles looks excellent!

Nice work!! The squiggles so far look great
Steve

Beautiful work all 'round, T! The cowling looks fantastic!
Cheers,

-
Thanks guys for the continuing support and having a peek .
I got the squiggles done and they turned out not to bad at all for my first time attempting this . Landing gear is only in place and hasn't been glued yet . Everything is ready for clear coating and decals and off to weathering . Not sure If I will go heavy with the weathering and follow Des's foot steps and have a clean build .

:)

The cowling looks very nice, Terri!

Thanks Gary :)

Excellent T! Fast, clean, and well executed!!

Great build Terri, congratulations.
-
Thanks everyone for the kind comments :)
Edo , sorry that I didn't get to your question sooner . The squiggles were rather easy to do . I spray the cowl Vallejo Metal coat Alum and let it dry for a few days . I then used Vallejo Metal coat Dark Alum placing a few drops in a pop cap . Using a very fine brush I started making half circles and sqigglies and all over the cowl parts . I didn't practice on anything either , just jumped right in with both feet .
