Hello to all,
Nieuport 24 or 27 perhaps ?
It looks like 3D printing product, isn'it ?
Best regards.
Alain.

Thank you for your participation

Congratulation Bertl !
very quick and good answer : Morane type N

I started this project some months ago.
My challenge was to study the drawings basics in order to obtain 3d parts and laser cut wood parts.

Morane is les Casques de Cuir and Memorial Flight project

Hi Philippe,

Very nice 3D work. Also, the 3D printed parts are very clean and precise. Where and how are you getting the parts printed, if I may ask? I work with 3D using Maya and Rhino and am looking for a way to print parts that are as detailed as yours, but most places I've found can't do the quality and small detail I'm looking for. Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
George

Hello george

I use Solidworks software and Shapeways Frosted Ultra Detail material.
It’s very interesting for the little parts but surface aspect is not as good as we will hope when we want large parts. So, for engine cowlings, I used Metallic Plastic Alumide Material.

For my model, I have used 3d parts to represent the real metal pieces and wood for the rest. Perhaps a completed model in Frosted would be interesting but in a smaller scale.

Thanks for your reply Philippe. I've been looking into Shapeways but wasn't sure about the quality of the fine detail. I think I'll give them a try based on your results.

A cool thing about Shapeways is that you can also make your model available for sale on their website. I'd buy yours if it were available.

Thanks,
George

Thanks gents

Alain, wrap of iron wire. I should soon receive much smaller turnbuckles ... I will do a photo to show the result.
Glad that you can come to our exhibition
amicalement

Lone modeler, my 1/16 Morane will be almost 2 times smaller than the new 1/32 Felixstow.
So if you build one, you can go to 1/16  8).
It’s big for a plastic model but quite necessary for me if I want to use wood. It’s the challenge for this model.
Farman is just fantastic project ! great model !!

Bertl, I drew many pieces trying to preserve the possibility of reducing the scale off 1/20, the scale of my last models, or even 1/32.
At the moment, I think a 1/32 3D model will be too weak …
I hope to manage to build my model in 1/16.
After, if I have the courage, It would be an interesting challenge.
We shall see; I have an AI which waits for me

Hey you! when I saw a morane type N at 1/16 scale, I knew who was behind sodium...
So you were hiding yourself in the other side of the earth, but I find you!
seriously, very glad to see you here!  Your presence in this forum confirm the good imptression I had about it...
the fuselage is "magnifique" really!
So blue protective colour (varnish) was not applied only in nieuport metal parts but in Morane saulnier too.
Was it the case of all french plane metal parts. since 14 until 18 ?
what about the rings, would you say they could have been blue too?
I will soon start here a Morane Saunier type L parasol...
i come to Bron too,  we will have surely what about to talk...

All the parts are just perfect. exactly as the reals as far as I can remenber.
Perhaps, just one thing: the wheel "protections" (les caches),weren't they more flexible than that (as the type L had)

[edit] I found that pic to illustrate what I am traying to say:

(http://nsm08.casimages.com/img/2014/12/20//14122011554318634312810767.jpg) (http://www.casimages.com/img.php?i=14122011554318634312810767.jpg)
perhaps could you "rework" them later ?

anyway your work is amazing! total respect!
