Title: flugzeugwerke
Post by: Steven Robson on April 09, 2015, 04:17:50 PM
How cool is this!

Got an engine stand from flugzeugwerke.  Designed by Bo Monroe, 3-D printed at Shapeways and landed on my desk in Australia today!  Print-to-order parts for our WW1 aeroplanes.

This one's in 1/16 scale, perfect for my Aero Daimler Motor by Weiner Modelbau.

Very cool, Steven!  Bo's really taking off with this 3-D printing stuff, something totally foreign yet fascinating to me.
Cheers,
Bud

Amazing stuff, Bo
What package did you use for the 3 D Models?

Maya -- George has me trying to switch to Rhino, which is theoretically much better suited to solids modeling for printing… but it's like painting in a cave to me (apologies to Connor Oberst ;)

And what's wrong with cave painting? It was good enough for our ancestors, and the art is still around for us to enjoy! ;D

George

PS: You are getting great results, so keep on keeping on!

Just ordered two 1/32 motor stands.  The Mercedes Crank and cylinders look great.  Will give these a go when they are out of beta.  Have you thought of doing a stand for rotaries?

BO,
Few days behind, had family visiting so I've only had sporadic visits to the Forum. Very impressive inventory so far and it all looks very good. Congratulations on the launch of your new business and all best wishes for a successful "run", if all your product is up to the "BO Standard" you'll be a grand success! 8)
Cheers,
Lance
