The time has come for something far from ww1. Yet, the aircraft is dear to all us Poles who are interested in ww2 aviation - our fighter from dark days of September 1939.
Modelingwise, we live now in blessed times. After many years of misery nowadays, thanks to Arma Hobby and IBG, we have within our grasp the accurate and spectacularly detailed kits of this iconic a/c in three major scales - 72, 48 and 32.
I have built 72nd one some time ago, I do not do 48th. And here is my take on 32nd.
Work on the cockpit is underway. Plastic and PE fit perfectly till now.

Nice start, Prze - looking forward to seeing your progress!
Cheers,

This will be good - excellent start Prze!
-
very nice start! this kit is a real gem
-
Thank you for your interest in this build and you kind words.
The work on cockpit continues, some wash used to bring out the details still needs some touches. And I also plan to add a few pipes and linkages. It is fun!

Ooh, this is spectacular work, Przemo! I really appreciate the work in progress as I fully intend to do this kit one day.... one day!! Regards, Marc.
-
This is really a beautiful kit. I have also placed it near my workbench.
A lot of interesting Resin-parts from Bitzkrieg and extra decals lie next to it.
I just hope that soon the modeling desire will grab me again.
Beautiful work that you show us here, @PrzemoL

Thank you Marc and Bertl. And if I may advise, do not hesitate to get to this kit. It is a gem of Wingnut Wings-like quality.
I have just finished working on the cockpit. Modification the Viet starter and adding a couple of pipes, cables and linkages at the spots which will be visible afterwards were only changes to the lovely kit bits. Yes, I plan to leave all the hatches open as suggested in the instruction.
And yes, the guns have the barrels replaced with the bits by Master. ;)

Kit looks great! Is this the standard issue kit? Do you know if the 1/48 scale version has the same level of detail ?
Ed
-
Thank you Ed.
48th scale kit is from Arma Hobby. It is different but also very detailed. It comes in two variants, with and without PE fret. Have a look here:
https://www.armahobby.pl/category/modele-samolotow-skala-1-48
This IBG 32nd scale kit is available just in one variant with PE included.
-
Thank you Prze ! have just completed ordering one w/PE and the Master barrels.

All this for £57 at the big shops! Fantastic build and what a kit! Przemol do have any opinions on IBG's other kits?

Thank you.

It is only my third IBG build. I have their first a/c model RWD.8. It was a disastrous start of the company into the realm of aviation. The kit had many serious flaws and to build a decent model one had to replace the wing, the stabilisers and fuselage front with resin bits from Arma Hobby.
But after that it was only better. Their kits from P.11, Karaś and Łoś family are all little gems. I have built their PZL 42 - a lovely kit. This 32nd scale P.11c is simply fantastic.
And those who built vehicles and armor are also praising their products. I have seen many built examples in modeling contests around Poland, both 72nd and 35th scale - they look spectacular.
SO yes, I would recommend their kits, only be careful with that RWD.8.
-
This looks excellent, Przemol. I hope all the fuse openings don't make painting too much trouble.

This looks excellent, Przemol. I hope all the fuse openings don't make painting too much trouble.
I hope so, too. My plan is to use all the covers attached temporarily during the airbrushing. The cockpit opening will be masked with tape and the gun barrels in their groves with some pieces of tissue. Should be fine ;)
And thanks for the praise-comment. ;)
-
Prze, that cockpit is achingly beautiful - it looks like (what I imagine of) the real thing!
I'm excited for your next update.
-
I will follow your project, well done Przemek!
-
Thank for your comments.
The work continues.
I have decided to purchase Part PE, basically only for the windscreen frame and the supports of the engine cowl which are already attached to the cylinders heads. The electric cables from silver thread attached to the spark plugs.
Besides, I decided to exchange the oil radiator with Master masterpiece. It required cutting the hole in the fuselage side.
The wing assembly put together, filled and sanded.
And the resin propeller with the engine cone cut from the casting blocks.

Prez,
Rec'd my 1/48 kit along with the Master barrels, Master radiator and the Yahu Instrument Panel, great stuff. Will follow your build as I will start hopefully before the end of this year.

That is great, Ed. I am looking forward to see you tackle that set.
-
I have missed this before Prez - not keeping up very well recently with very much at all.
Another of your wonderful builds with such crisp and precise detail. Truly a mini-masterpiece in the making.
Stephen.
-
Thanks for the reply Prez, this kit is rather special and the build........well I can smell the engine oil......fantastic!!!
-
Wow Prez, I don't check this section very often but I really should. There is superb work on what looks to be a real state of the art kit going on here. Looking forward to the next update.

Finally something to show. The main colours are on. Now for the decals.
In the meantime a small amendment - the trailing edge of the engine cowl had to be thinned.

Some more progress.
Pressing the decals into the plate corrugations is tedious and some retouches will be necessary.
The windscreen is now with glass panes, only the rearview mirror is missing.

Exquisite work Prze! Seeing the fuselage on its wheels reminds me of the Berlin museum aircraft saved from WW2 (albeit without wings) and displayed in Poland.
-
Thank you, Zac.
Indeed, I had the same impression about the seemingly derelict fuselage...
And here, finally, the end is coming. After tedious painting, wash, varnish the main bits are joined together. Now for the last details!

Adding the extra details may be tedious Prez, but on your models the effort is always worth it. Super indeed!
Stephen.
-
Incredible work. The decaling alone would tax my patience but you got amazing results.
Steve

Thanks.
Going on, the aerial and the covers of the fuselage openings installed. The seams connecting the fuselage and the wing still need a bit of treatment.

What a great looking machine. What would a continued lineage look like if it had been allowed to develop?

Well, Stephen, this is the question we Poles have been asking, and not only in the context of PZL aircraft...
In the meantime, not discouraged by the World Cup defeat to France (congratulations, Mbappe) I have enclosed the engine and attached the propeller.

So, my P.11c is complete. It presents the a/c flown by Franciszek Jastrzębski - the commander of 132 Sqn from 3 Fighter Group based in Poznan. It is depicted in the colours used before the WW2 broke out - red numbers and tail markings and not overpainted checkbooards on the wing tops. The underwing 54-P and side number 8.88 are not confirmed.

BRAVO Prez
Just wonderful.
I wish IBG would also issue a P.24 so that I could make it Greek.
Spyros
-
Lovely job Prze, she's a fine machine!
-
Thank you, gentlemen.
Spyros, I doubt they plan P.24 in 32nd. But there is one in 72nd scale - also a great model - http://www.ibgmodels.com/instr/72524.pdf
-
Very well detailed and the paint is superb. A fantastic result!
-
Congratulations on another magnificent model Prze. The detail and finish are exceptional, she's a real beauty!
Cheers,
Lance

Just brilliant! Beautifully finished as always, all the kit's delicate details look so well brought out.

Thank you gentlemen for your kind comments.

Like all your work, Wonderful ! Insipration for my 1/48.
Ed
-
magnificent!
I've got the boxing with the figure in my stash. the figure looks enough like Skalski that i bought the Techmod decals for a Skalski ship.
-
Thank you, Ed and Jeff.
I hope to see you respective builds of this iconic fighter.
-
That looks great!
-
Your work is always Fantastic Przemo! I think you might have given this one just a little More Love because of it's Original Polish Heritage! I went through the whole build and all is Top Notch! Beautiful Model!

Thanks, Jeroen and Rick.
Yes, Rick, indeed I was doing my best on this build due to its special value to my heart. I am gladit all went out fine.
