Title: Scratch made Bezobrazov trimonoplane
Post by: pustota on October 08, 2014, 12:49:04 AM
Here is my latest build.
It's scratch (wheels, front part of the body and pilot's seat taken from Eduard's Fokker eindecker).
The build process you can see here: http://scalemodels.ru/modules/forum/viewtopic_t_52964_start_0.html
it's in a Russian but you will understand everything by the pictures.
I'll be glad to reply to  you questions.
 Thank you.

Wow, Pustota, that is truly extraordinary!  I love everything about it.  Is it 1/48 scale?
Cheers,
Bud
(Psst, Des.  Here's another one for ya, mate.)

The rigging is not so sophisticated as it look like, just a lot of EZ Line+ patience.

What an unusual looking aeroplane but you have done a magnificent job in recreating it in 1:48 scale, congratulations on completing this very unorthodox craft.

Absolutely gorgeous, very well done indeed!
It does beg the question though: What on earth were they thinking? There's absolutely no vertical support or strength to the wings to support them in flight and stop them folding up.....

That is really sublime modelling, Putota.  A very unorthodox design and your
work on the rigging is nothing short of amazing, especially in 1/48 scale.

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Absolutely magnificent! Let alone the whole idea of scratchbuilding (which is top notch) but the shading of the linen surfaces is great - please can you describe how have you been able to acheive such great effect?
Congrats - it`s one of the most interesting looking aircraft I`ve ever seen!

The linen effect:
First you spray the wing with sand color( vallejo air 71.075), than you mask the ribs whit Aizu masking tape (0.7mm). You spray over with Mr.Hobby Gunze Mr.Color "Tan 44". Take a pigment (i took tamiya's tamiya weathering master-"mud") and brush it all along the rib area (not to much). Take off the masking tapes and spray vallejo 71.075 "sand" over the all area. Not to much- make it transparent.
That all.

I do like the unusual experimental types but this one is exceptional, especially in 1/48 scale. Outstanding modelling is an understatement - words cannot do justice to this model. Where did you get the plans as it could be an interesting project in 1/72 scale.

Again and again I stand in awe in front of those models an really enjoy looking at them or photos of them.

Thank you for posting your model!
