Hello,
As promised started new old kit, rough plastic sprues and nice PE attached. Manufactured in 1995.
Now I am focused on the cockpit interior, which is a mixture of Dr.1 and D.VII/VIII, but main resemblance goes from the latter ones..
As I got inbox pics on the other hand forgot to do pics before fuselage closure :( Ones can barely see the interior lozenge and modified compass & magneto (oversized resin part from Eduard)

BTW the kit is rough. Adjusting the crate into the fuselage half requires some pre-work in finding fixed position

Great choice in subject and nice start. Looking forward to your progress.

Cool , I actually have this kit with a Dragons Fokker Dr.1 fuselage so I will be following this one . Nice start on the pit :)

thanks!
I have left fuselage for a while and get the wings parts on the desk. All of them were cut off sprues, sanded and brushed with primer. As decided to use Aviattic decals, used some pigments to express some depth and more 3D turnout. Last step was implementation of varnish layer.

Wow you are making quick work of this kit. Not an easy task just cleaning up the parts! The pre shading looks great and I am looking forward to seeing the lozenge applied!

That's a very rare bird. Going by Scale Mates it was a one off with no follow up.

thanks for the support!
Once received the decals from Aviattic, started to wrap the wings parts. As you see on pics on prework with shading disappeared:(. I do not bother as still can do some post shading once I decide it is good for this model:)

Lozenge with rips decal looks fantastic.

Outstanding looking wings, they certainly look the part.

Wow, those decals really take it to another level!

I was not sure, how this decals will works in 1/48.
After seeing your great work here I think it would improve my E.V further, but now it's too late.
Cheers,
Frank

Thanks :)
Keep on doing then
the wings are ready for the assembly. The more then 20 years old decals were rather less problematic in application then expected. Just few brush recovery must be done. Then the final clear varnish layer

now the fuselage. I have decided to do the white stripes by paint as decals were rather too thick

Excellent work on this kit. I have one myself it is far from ideal. You are making it look exceptional

Coming along quite nicely, love what you have done thus far,

Hi,
Recently I had not much time to show any progress in that thread but inevitably some small steps further has been done.
The U.II from small stuff it is really great stuff to improve the final outcome
BTW. those tiny little things on the top of cylinder was a “real” task ;D But finally I can be proud of myself not to loose any of those during assembly

Fine work on that Small Stuff engine!
-
BTW. those tiny little things on the top of cylinder was a “real” task ;D
Yes, on this type its a bit tight, I built two of this type (5 at all).
Do you have sources about a brass intake pipes? Until know I know only copper for the curved ones (part 6) or steel for the later straight ones (part 7).
Examples are the Richthofen Dr.I for copper (engine in London) or E.V/D.VIII engines with steel pipes in some museum.
Cheers,
Frank
-
The engine looks great but I agree with Frank about the intake pipes - they should definitely be copper, not brass.
I think you`re building another marvellous model Krzysiek! Keep up the good work.
-
you say copper..well I have not investigated that issue in details just look throuh the web
Will be copper then ;D

Terrific work on your engine. The color of the pipes is an easy fix! I am really looking forward to seeing the wings mounted!!

The engine in the Cracow Aviation Museum has copper.

Hi,
I got from life couple of hours for Fokker, so had not hesitated at all and did what should had been done weeks ago. Finally you can see biplane…upside down as the glue is still fresh. Frankly I was afraid of not keeping her tight but there she is ;D

I had read some time ago that a very well respected artist and fellow modeler called this kit "A nasty little collection of styrene lumps". Well, not in your able hands, K! Bloody marvelous!

Hi,
the project is almost done. Just waiting for prop drying as I was not satisfied with my first woodcarved. Well I will try with wood in the future as it requires more practice ;)
