Model display
« on: April 25, 2013, 12:21:28 AM »
Hi!

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this....

I´d like to share some pics of my new model display. I already have another one on the other wall but it was getting cramped with models.

I know sometimes it's difficult for us to integrate our hobby with the rest of the household, so I hope the idea of mixing two different interests in one piece of furniture might help some of you guys.

I´m quite lucky my wife really likes my kits. Well... she likes them when they are ready but doesn´t really like me spending hours locked up in my den  ::) ::) Anyway, we spent two weekends restoring an old showcase I managed to acquire.

Originally it was like this one (but in worse state)

Full view with some kits:

And, very important, it has enough space to fit a Wnw Gotha  ;D ;D

Hope you liked it!!

Marco

Very nice Marco. For me it's worth an investment of time and/or $ to ensure the investment of time in producing a model is protected, and the enjoyment of the product can be continued. Keeping curious fingers or pets at bay is another benefit!
Cheers,
Lance :)

Very nice, Marco.  And it looks sturdy enough to not wobble under aggressive cat scratching.
Cheers,
Bud

That 1/1 scale Mk1 feline is a great likeness of the real thing!

  Marco,
Those are beautiful display cabinets my friend. I hadn't thought of using a cabinet for storage purposes but it appears you have good reason. By the way outstanding airbrushing techniques for the cats too. Anyone would swear that they are real.

Glad you liked it guys!  :)

I´ll try harder next time I paint a cat.   ::)

The second cabinet is being used for storage just for the time being. As soon as I need space it will be put to its proper purpose.
