Good Day
I would like to focus on this one, which seems to be quite promising in terms of quality and detailing
So far, so good

The Gaspatch Salmson appears to be a Lovely kit. Your Model is looking Awesome! The interior looks Fantastic. You have nailed the control and bracing wires! Well Done!

I have been on the fence as I want a Salmson 2A2 in USAAS markings, but can't decide which kit, WnW or Gaspatch. K, your build photos of the interior have knocked me clean off the fence and squarely on the Gaspatch side. I will be ordering one soon. It goes without saying I will be following your build closely for tips and tricks to use.

Oh, K is creating a template to follow in my own build. Looks nice, I'm in!
Which kit do you build? I have the "Mid Type" in stash and looked last weekend into the box. The content is nice, with all the options, PE, decals and laser cut cardboard for jig.
Do you open the fuselage to show the engine?
Cheers,
Frank

Oh wow, this is beautiful. Going to be following this one! :)
-
You're off to an excellent start, K! I have this one in my stash and you've just moved it closer to the front of the queue.
Cheers,
Bud

What a start, the model looks beautiful and by your pictures can be turned into a very nice reproduction. Following with interest.

Looking great - I have built one of these before (as evidenced through my website link pic), it is a really great kit. I have to say that your build so far suggests that this will be a stunner.
Cheers,

Very good looking! I especially like the wood colour and the contrast it creates against the CDL.

That interior looks amazing!

I know it is early in your build, but did you order one of the two available painting masks for this model? I was wondering which was preferable, vinyl or paper? I am currently attempting to mask and spray a French 5 color camo scheme on a 1/28th Spad. Anything that helps with painting the camo is looking pretty good to me right now.
Your great photos of the really fine work you have done on your Salmson has convinced me to order one.

Excellent work on this K. Looks like a great kit, also.

Good Day!
Thank you for warm welcome!

I started Late vs. and yes engine should be opened once I am done
.. did you order one of the two available painting masks for this model? I was wondering which was preferable, vinyl or paper? I
I got the paper ones and it would be sth new for me so we will see the results
I have started the engine..but was rather following WNW instruction:)

Engine is looking great, are the pusher rods from the kit? They look so finely moulded I was wondering if you'd use brass tube or rod.

Good Day

No, the manufacturer provided them in flat form on PE part. I have used the rod, but do not remember where those came from..:)
Some additional interior work..

Beautiful interior! I Love your color choices. It is a shame how much is covered up when the upper fuselage gets attached!

KrzysiekK and smperry,
I noticed you mentioned masks for the 5 color camo. Where do those come from. I've not heard of them before. They would be a great help with painting the camo.
Thanks,
Mike

That interior looks sweet!

Mike, that is a Gaspatch model, so you can find the masks also in the Gaspatch shop in two varinats:

Good Day
Not much done since last update. Fuselage is closed, sanded and primed. The undercarriage was enhanced to support well whole structure, which seems to be significant per 48 scaling

Looking good! Nice work on the pins in the gear. That should add a lot of support to the model! I am looking forward to seeing the paint go on!

I'm amazed you can pin so neatly. I have a heck of a time with 1/32 scale.
-
Very precise work pinning the struts, this is going to be very special. Looking forward to seeing some colour now.

Super job on the pit and getting to the painting stage , looking excellent so far :)
Terri

K, that is a very good progress. Looks really nice!
I see a little bit of putty, but the fit seems to be ok.
Cheers,

Frank,
Thanks for the link to the masks!

I am sorry that I have not commented until now but somehow I have missed this. You have made an amazing start with super detail - modelling of the very highest standard here. I shall endeavour to follow more closely in future.
Stephen.

Great to see work on this lovely model. I do not build this scale but I had a chance to have both this and WNW kits at the same time in my hands and the comparison was very positive for the Gaspatch one.
You have done an excellent start, fingers crossed for the camo application :-)

Thanks for watching!
I pleased to let you know that painting went very smoothly

Thanks!
How did you do the paint chipping?
The base was AK476 Steel, then the final layer. Chipping was done with Olfa.

I like the paint chipping.
A model always takes on a new look when painted, doesn't it?

RAGIII

Sweet !
Terri
-
K, this is really wonderful what you have done here!
@RAGIII
Rick, that jig is a laser cut paperboard and a sheet of paper for positioning - and both are part of the kit!
Gaspatch is not only creating wonderful accessories, but also wonderful multimedia kits. I am looking forward to building this kit one day.
Cheers,
Frank

Beautiful!

Beautiful paintwork, the kit really looks well engineered and building is first class.
Looking forward to the final steps.

What a beautiful model this is. I am excited to see the next update but I must be patient and not rush the artist. :)
