Great result!
I tried that technic once on my Phönix, with Gunze acrylics. And I had the problem, that the lower layer was bitten by the upper one, since those colors are alcohol based. In mean time I have also other colors, so with a base coat of Mr.Paint, and others it should work.

I use mostly vallejo acrilics. This is the secret: not to much paint on the base color.

The finish on that is fantastic! The mottling on the upper surfaces is extremely well done.
