Which material was used? Hansa Brandenburg W29
« on: September 12, 2017, 06:55:24 PM »
Hello my friends,
I want to start a new project. An abandoned W29. For this I would like to know if anyone from you can help me with some knowledge about the material that was used for the fuselage.

I have marked the areas that are of interest for me.
My question is now which part is made of Steel? Aluminium? Wood?
It would be a great help to realize my idea of an abandoned W29.
Thank you in advance,
Manni

So, what I found out is that the green and orange parts might be made of aluminium and the blue, yellow and red parts have been made of plywood.
But I will be grateful for all comments on that.

Man I hi

This is an interesting question and I have wondered about it in relation to my W12 build.

I can't help but wonder whether the cockpit door panel (blue) might be aluminium rather than wood. This is based on nothing more than me thinking the design and size seem to better suit sheet metal than a wooden panel. It will be really interesting if we can get definitive answers.
