Eduard Albatros W.4 Naval Grays
« on: September 02, 2017, 11:45:59 PM »
I am starting an Eduard 1/48 Albatros W.4 using kit markings for an aircraft stationed on the Baltic Sea circa May 1917.  I plan on using Americal/Gryphon Kriegsmarine Hexagonal Camouflage decals or perhaps giving the Aviattic sheets a try.  Both appear to be the smaller sized printed hexagon violet-gray, blue-gray & brown-gray fabric which I hope is correct.

According to what I have read in multiple discussions German naval aircraft moved from a natural wood finish to a gray-blue on fuselage & float sides with a light gray under surface finish (except for wing fabric which remained natural).  I may stay with the natural wood finish but just in case can anyone recommend a close match for these grays? TIA
