1/32 Roden DH 2 with Eduard photo etch set
« on: August 17, 2017, 06:25:35 AM »
Hi Guys, Since so many people had trouble viewing my pics posted off of the google sharing site I have (on the kind advice of Des) obtained a postimage account and will now try things again.

Here is the nacelle after its initial paint. Please ignore the very shiny shine, I just glosscoated it to prepare for weathering

Here it is during the dreaded rigging process with some chipped up markings on the upper wing (I like my models to look like they work for a living)  ;).

Great to see this excellent build back, and it appears you have sorted out the procedure to post images onto the forum from Postimage. Your build so far is excellent, I look forward to seeing more updates.

Now I can see! Nice work Chris, from another fan of the weathered look. The cockpit is very nicely detailed and those chipped roundels a great touch. I'm glad you solved the photo posting riddle, nice to see your work. :)
Cheers,
Lance

You are certainly making progress on this kit.  This is outstanding work considering the material you are working with.  Don't stop now.

Wow, that's truely a lovely D. H. 2 that you are building. I really like the effect of CDL soaked with Fuel and oil. And the ammo boxes have realistic scratches too!
Additionally I feel very familiar to the look of your instruction booklet. Mine are also always covered with color strokes and stains. I think an instruction booklet must represent the work one is doing...

I totally agree with all of the above. The oil stains are excellent and the rest of the weathering is very convincing.

I know thats right! Whenever I build a model, it is a race to see if I can finish the model before the instructions become intelligible.

How have you found this kit? It seems to have a reputation for being poor, yet I have found some very nice builds made from it
