Fokker D.VI// Eduard//1:48 Jasta 80b
« on: July 06, 2017, 04:31:57 PM »
Hello,
I would say: It was just a pleasure to work with such a kit!. But believe me, once I had opened the box I was rather not satisfied with the outlook, especially plastic sprues looked like…mistake during manufacturing process.
During the assembly all initial assumptions were slowly dismissed and even the most troublesome step such as the wings assembly ended up with the positive outcome.
Decals: from Aviattic
Engine: from Small Stuff
PS. I found out the note on the web that lover wings’ lozenge should be five-colour, but it was long time after my application :(

regards
K

That is a piece of first class modelling. I would not have known about, or spotted, the lower wing lozenge as I was too taken by the overall quality of this build.

Nice little Fokker!

Believe me or not, I had the same feelings during build of my Pup! The Eduard kit (8011) is of the same good old times as your Fokker (8012). And the positive outcome is the only thing with counts!
Better a kit which needs a bit more work for a good result than no kit of a type at all.

Cheers,
Frank

Truly magnificent, K!  I agree with Frank on all counts.  I had immeasurable fun updating the old Eduard Tripe.  Your Fokker looks as though you started off with a Copper State or Gaspatch kit.
Cheers,
Bud

Krzysiek, she`s a beauty! I would never say that you built it out of the old and crude Eduard kit. It looks very crisp and clean, too clean for my taste ;)
Some mud and castor oil would make me one very jealous modeller  ;)
Best regards
Filip
