SMER 1/48 Avro 504K
« on: June 25, 2017, 04:57:43 AM »
I picked this kit up to model after the very colorful ORA Avro 504K that has graced the skies there for many years, powered by a 110 Le Rhone 9J. For the checkerboard scheme, I used Microscale 1/64 chekerboard, which was far more brittle than I was hoping for! I used nearly the entire sheet, and still had to settle for some damage. the engine came from Small Stuff models, what a beautiful representation. Prop is from a Roden Fokker D.VII. I printed my own wheel covers, tail number, and "Built by Morgan & Co" decals, wish I had a higher quality printer!

I love the checkerboard fuselage decals and the self printed decals look very good as well, the overall finish on this model is excellent. I'm still waiting for someone to produce the Avro 504 in 1:32 scale.

Great colour scheme, the checker board pattern is hard to beat. Very nice!

Like Des and Lance said the checkerboard pattern is outstanding! Your home made decals look great to me!
