The Wright Flyer, Aerobase 1/72

As promised here again a stripdown model, this is from the Japanese company Aerobase in scale 1/72 and was a Christmas present by my lovely wife.
The Wright Flyer
The brass is much thicker compared to the Eduard ones: easier to build, but not so original. The kit is very complete, which includes also the black base, the bicycle and white metal casts for pilot and engine. The PE was soldered an the biplane painted by airbrush with Gunze followed by wood imitation with oils. One interesting thing was the manual: after I completed the rigging according to the manual there were still some anchor points open on the model. I started research on the net and find other plans from original and bigger model kits, which helps me to understanding and finishing the rigging.

Now you know my collection of those rigged biplanes and it was a pleasure to share it with you!

Amazing work in 1:72 scale Frank. Soldering such small parts would have taken a very steady hand and good eyes, you have achieved a remarkable result.

I scratch build 1/72 aircraft but I could never attempt one of these: this requires a level of skill and a steady hand and good eye that I can only dream of. Brilliant in every way.

If one want to start such PE models, I can only recommend to start with a Aerobase one! The brass is much thicker so that model was really easy to handle compared to the other stripdowns. But there are not so much serious models, the bigger number of Aerobase kits in very small scales are more toys than models in my eyes. Don't get me wrong, they are good to get kids in contact with such PEs - we need more young modellers!
