Detail photos of TVAL's SE5a reproduction
« on: April 28, 2017, 08:28:51 PM »
Seeing as how Eduard have brought out a new tool SE5a in 1/48 scale I thought I would update some of my SE5a detail photos at my last visit to Hood Aerodrome.

All taken with my Samsung G6 cellphone

Thanks for looking in
James

Thanks for these magnificent photos, Jamo!  I've got a couple of the Eduard kits and these will be a tremendous help.

If you want me to compile these into one PDF, please shout!  ;)

I, for one, would really appreciate that, Bob, as long as it's okay with James.
Cheers,
Bud

IMHO rib tapes are best represented by a clear coat with a slightly different sheen to the main colour. No pre-shading visible in reality. Have a look at this shot:

Notice how the rigging wires pass through the top cowling here:

Great shots, and timely reference for the Eduard kit. Thank you for going to the trouble.
I agree about the rib tapes not really appearing as pre-shade, more a question of a varnish or sheen level contrast.

Cheers
