 Des,
What an awesome kit my old friend. I'm looking forward to seeing you work your magic in a build thread soon. Got to love those AH fighter's.

Isn't it great to see such models emerging! It will be really interesting to see what our master modeller forum friends make of this when it it is released.

Best wishes
Nigel

This is one of my favourite aircraft.  So far the Flashback 1/48 kit is the only representation of it I have built. (Huberlu did a spectacular build of that kit:  http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/Gal9/8401-8500/gal8429-Aviatik-Berg-D1-Huberlu/00.shtm)

This presents for me a bit of a dilemma.  I was hoping WNW would release it.  This kit looks excellent, so I may have to look at grabbing one if the price isn't too obscene, but my space for 1/32 planes is going to be slim.

I have written to HpH and asked for a release date, also for a price if known.

Received a reply from HpH regarding the Aviatic Berg D.1, it will be released within the month and the final selling price will be €155 which includes all taxes, outside of the EU will not be charged tax. I will let you know if I hear anymore news.

Regarding the last post on this page

http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=28641&page=95

I think the laser cut wood panels are for the HP O/400 rather than the D.1 - either way - as long as the wood is very fine grain a layer of stain & clear varnish should finish the job with little effort.

Wow, that built up D.I is simply gorgeous.  I too wonder if the wooden parts are for this kit (could be), their other WW I kit's wooden part was for the beaching dolly.

This something I'll definitely buy and build. The price seems in line for resin, so we'll see.
I have several of their kits, from the Catalina, Ar-193, Walrus, P-63, Me-410, to Helldiver, and they all have the usual resin foibles.
But nothing insurmountable. You just have to be able to improvise, which, I think, anyone building WW1 stuff can do easily enough.

Hi all,
The news page on the HPH website states both the 1/32 scale aircraft and larger scale engine will be released next week.
Nothing about the cost of either.

Interesting - they include masks for the hex camo with the kit but then sell decals for the hex camo separately - that seems a little irritating to me, we are not talking a cheap kit here....

I'll be buying one but I share the sentiment about having to buy extra decals.

Actually I'd almost decided to try & build one of the plain CDL aircraft that had the sponge applied 'stippling' on anyway.

I rate HpH kits quite highly but I do wish they'd stop adding details which cannot ever be seen. Just about seen detail if you look at right angle with a torch I quite like but not permanently hidden ones. They'd have been better including a full set decals in the price & missing out the hidden bits.

A good touch which is typical of HpH is the wire reinforced struts & landing gear (by the look of it).

Russell
