 Patrick,
Sorry to hear of your health issue my old friend. I wish a continued and speedy recover. Outstanding progress on both kits. You count on me following closely especially on the D.VIII. Looking forward to the next update.
Highest Regards,

Perhaps a little late but I have had NO Problem applying a clear coat within 24 hrs. of applying the Griffin Oils!

I have been using Uschi's Blitz Dry when I use oils and they dry within a few hours and clearcoated not long after. Great stuff and it only takes a drop.

Been working on the Camel cockpit the last several days - amazing how much time you can sink into just this area on a WNW kit! Still more work to do and I always find these close up macro shots to be discouraging (sure highlights areas to improve) but I am getting closer to getting it done. Used HGW belts and a Taurus fuel glass on the instrument panel - that may have been the most difficult aftermarket item I have ever installed (the parts are just so tiny - amazing really):

Also started work on the Copper State URII for the Fok DVIII:

I'm glad you stuck with the small parts as that cockpit looks gorgeous!

EDIT: I forgot to acknowledge your comments about your recent health issues, I hope I didn't come off as rude! I hope modelling is as therapeutic for you as for me and that you're on the mend.

Beautiful pit, looking forward to your treatment on that CSM engine (I am also leaning that way for my kit).

Thanks again all for the positive comments!

Well today was resin engine fun day :)

Worked on the CSM Oberursel and also found that I had a CMK LeRhone in the stash that I had not built so I dove into both. I did not expect much from the CMK but I was extremely pleased with the detail on it and how easy it built up. The CSM URII went together OK as well but was slightly more difficult to assemble and the rocker arms are extremely fragile - I broke three in the assembly process. There is also a somewhat rough texture on the crankcase front, but I am hopeful that will smooth out with some paint application. Both engines fit fine in the Aviattic Fokker cowl. Both came with spark plugs but I am holding off to use some Taurus plugs that I have on order

Both engines are looking great! Did you thin out the edges/inside of the cowling? Looks to be about 1/2 the thickness of mine. I guess I need to do some work  :-[

Hi RAGIII - that is the Aviattic cowl not the kit part - I think the Aviattic came that way (thin) - I dont recall sanding it out anyway...

A bit slow going but some progress. Not in a rush on the DVIII as waiting for aftermarket decals, but did get a start on making new internal structure from plastic rod (the Avis parts are very rough) and my attempt to replicate the padding surround the cut-out in the upper wing:
