Toby, Nice work on the wing attachment! As for a misaligned strut, it would affect the rest only if the wing is out of alignment.

I have to say I am very impressed by the Vertigo rigging jigs I've got. I can heartily recommend them.

Now the head scratching starts  :)

Looks like you have mounting the upper wing under control!

It's always good to have a helping hand with these tricky operations, looking really good.

I have a feeling all control will vanish when I try fitting the struts. The internal ones cross over each other. I'm not looking forward to fitting the small ones over the cockpit at all

Toby,
Great progress and looking very nice. A quick question on the Jig,  I've looked at them on-line and they offer an "Upgrade Kit". Does yours as illustrated here have that feature? Can you advise what the kit provides as an upgraded capability? My AeroClub version is great but restricted in size so I'm thinking of getting one like yours for the larger subjects in the 1:32 range.
Cheers,
Lance

Thanks  Lance. I think the upgrade is a support for the nose although I can't confirm as the website to Vertigo Miniatures seems to be down at the moment. I have two jigs one for 1/72,1/48 and another for 1/32,1/24 and have used them successfully on all scales apart from 1/24. It needs a bit of tweaking for very small 1/72 kits in so much that the wing supports have to be reversed to move in to hold shorter wings but that is a two minute job.

Now for the tricky bit. I have drilled out all the holes to slightly oversize so they can accommodate the struts coming in from different angles. I've also attached the small cockpit struts and on initial marrying up they seem to be very close but we all know that can change :-\

I've  labelled all of them so I can keep track  as I attach them to the top wing and hopefully then lower it onto the bottom wing.

Having said that  looking at the WNW kit instructions they seem to favour attaching them onto the bottom wing first.

We shall see. I need to go and lie down for a while though before I start.  :o

It seems to me that you are extremely well organised - so much so that I am sure that things will go better than you may dare to hope. I had similar feelings when I put the struts on some of my early pushers and again when I built the Hansa-Brandenburg CC: and the same sense of relief when I had finished! Best of luck with this next stage.

Stephen.

This is not going well so I've decided to let the inner struts set to the top wing and then try and force them into place.
