hello!

I went on with the le Rhone 9c engines
As the Jörg said, they are quite pretty and after market is not needed.

I know, i have to glue better the collector to the cylinder...

Perhaps the engines are too clean, i will see later...

paint on cowling have not been reworked, it's just to have a general idea
la peinture des capots moteur n'a pas été travaillé , c'est juste pour voir l'allure générale...

by the way, all parts fitpretty well without glue, it's a pleasure...

Hello!
I reworked the cowling paint
first I mix red with flesh to simulate chipped paint

Then i darked the low side with red and tamiya brown red

in the top of the cowling I mixed red and yellow to put some light (it doesn't appears too much in the pisture)

then I added the number.

whe have pics of the 7 and 9 aircraft i imagine butterfly had the 5 one...
with a little smoke in the low part of the number.

Well i think engine nacelle is done...

next step, the pilot nacelle...

Absolutely stunning, how did you produce the number "5"?

Best regards,
Jörg

Xan... what can I say... you are a true master modeller! I can only wish my Caudron was half as good as yours!
Best regards

I did the pilot nacelle too...

I started try to represent rain marks...

than darker marks under the rivets

according to this autochrome, we know the MG mount could be blue:

but a friend of mine notice I didn't take care of the nacelle inclinaiton in the ground, he was right...

so i did it again...
as it often happens in those cases, i prefer the first version...
Never mind, butterfly will anyway cover a large part of the nacelle...

That is a staggeringly beautiful model. The rain marks are truly mind-blowing - such detail! Simply marvellous!!

Thanks Stephen and Rag!
Let's pass to the wings...
The moulding of them is just amazing, it's simply the best fabric representation I have never seen

the lower wing first.
I put the metalic protection under the engines.
then i st
L'aile inférieure tout d'abord.
j'ai collé les plaques de protection sous le moteur
puis j'ai attaqué la peinture de l"intrados (toutes les refs sont de chez Gunze)
