I think you matched the colors perfectly.

thanks all of you!
I told you it will be oily, well here it is:

Ok  it's not really representativ or what can be see in most of the pictures but somes were like that , rotative engine is rotative engine in a caudron, a nieuport or a Morane Saulnier...

Anyway I assume it, let'e thing butterfly was not very well kept...
and with a proper cowler and fuselage it will be OK !

I forgot to weather the stitching and the plugs, I will do it at once!

Lovely Xan,

I really must get onto my Floatplane - although I do struggle with rigging in 48th...  ???

I am so pleased that the building of an excellent kit of such a significant, yet relatively ignored aircraft in modelling terms, is in the hands of a master modeller. In welcoming new members, I often describe the forum as a source of inspiration. This is exactly a case in point.

Best wishes
Nigel

I have one of these in the stash and enjoying you build.  What paints did you use for the fabric and metal parts?

What paints did you use for the fabric and metal parts?
Gunze H318 Radome for fabric and gunze H313 /H2 white (50%) fpr metal and wooden parts.

just for intellectual curiosity...
you remenber Marc Chassard founded autochrome i shown in the first page of the topic

The plane seems grey blue, but I didn' t pay atttention.

searching pics in flickr i fonded this colorized picture San Diego museum put on line

of course it's not a proof , but yes an indication...
Why did they colorized the plane in blue?
We are quite sure there has been blue dopped nieuport.
May be same thing happen with caudron , I mean grey blue  colored dope applied on fabric...
loocking better the autochrome, we can see behind a clasical linen coloured caudron, so the autochrome colours are right...
interesting isn't it?

it is! Maybe the first autochrome shows a whitish color?  Looks like the white Voisin bombers with blue struts... the San Diego pic is rather crudely colourized.
