Looks great so far Adam. You should take a look at przemols build at that link. It is a very nice build that I remember following back then.

Thank you my friends.
Retiree life is not easy. My family considering that I have a lot of free time gives me various works  :-X and for modeling I have time at night. So I haven't enough
tome to put in pictures, sorry my friends.  :-[

I started doing the cockpit
Manual fuel pump was made from scratch.

Throttle lever was made from PE parts.

Cockpit almost ready.

Cushion pilot's seat was made from scratch.

Plots belts  was made from the remnants of HGW and catted off PE parts from original PART belts.

The lower the engine cover I have done according to the Przemols method. Thank you Przemol.  ;D

I was planning to make the engine with complete equipment, but unfortunately the engine is too large and I could not mount his top cover.  >:(

So  I cut off the top of the engine  that it can fit the cover.

Radiators shutters was needs to scratch doing.

Radiator was made from PART PE parts.

My jig for setting the geometry of my model.

Now is the time to paint my Spad.
First will be painted the bottom and side surfaces of on the canvas color.

Now I preparing my model for shading, but write about it next time..  :)

Adam.

Outstanding work all around! You are making excellent use of the PE details and your scratch built details are also awesome! I had a feeling the engine would not fit. You are not alone there as I have said. Your fit of all the panels is excellent.

Really nice work Adam, the cockpit additions are spectacular to say the least. Your Photo Etch is as good as I've seen here, really impressive!
Cheers,
Lance

Well this is another interesting build as usually yours are...
The work on the PE parts is top level, especially the louvers.
In my opinion the canvas colour appears a bit too dark, I have an idea of a French CDL much lighter and yellowish, but maybe I'm wrong, of course!
In my build (but the plane was not camouflaged at all) I used Misterkit #FR03 French Light Yellow for the CDL and Misterkit #FR04 Clear Doped Linen for the darker shade of the nose.
I already know this will be another masterpiece...

Beautiful work! I have this kit too, but with the Eduard PE set. The Part set looks more comprehensive (and fiddly!) though.

I'm also curious about the MAC 1/72 kit; I have one too and have been thinking about a way to thin those trailing edges without damaging the rib details too much...

Thanks my friends, Yours  kind opinions are mobilizing to me for further action.
Preparing the model for shading is very tedious. Wings have a lot of ribs.

Then I started to paint, chassis and engine cover, I applied the color recommended by Roden.

Since the aircraft was a British production, the top surfaces should be painted PC 10. I used the paints recommended by the WNW on DH.2 plane.

All metal parts was painted with the same paint, but more glossy.

For painting Belgian distinguishing marks I did masks.

When I removed the mask after painting PC10, part of the engine cover painting was gone.
Because I did not like the color of the paint, I changed the color of the paint.

Before me now is a very big challenge, I have to make a masks to paint the comet. Because I don't have the proper equipment, I will have to do it myself.

Adam.
