German ground indentification plates
« on: December 01, 2016, 10:51:55 PM »
First post on this helpuful forum. I want to build the Eduard Junkers J1 model jointly with a little diorama. One of the  J1 duties mentioned in the Windosck Datafile was to identify foward possitions of german troops. Grosz mention that ground soldiers used "white plates" in order to ease the location of their position from air.  żIs there any reference, picture of such plates?.
Thanks in advance.

I found some related with this issue (but US system   :-\): The Popham panel-system of visual signalling to aircraft at Beauval, 30 July 1918.
